Online gaming isn't solo friendly?
It seems that a lot of games expect that we have a lot of friends that play the same games as us, but is that really true? Because I doubt that everyone has friends that play the same games as them, which means that in a lot of these games these people will have to play with strangers. Not that this is a disaster but it kind of sucks when you're forced to play with strangers when you could've done it on your own.
Developers want you to play with other people?
I can't help but get that feeling sometimes because the moment I go online in a game like GTA V Online I notice how very little I can do on my own. Sure there are things I can do but if you want to make a lot of money then it will always force you to go to public lobbies, to be in a crew with other people and to do certain missions that will require more people to start. This sucks when you have no friends that play this game, because a lot of people aren't friendly in GTA V Online which will often end in you getting shot by some random douchebag or people leaving in a mission and that will then end in automatic failure. CoD zombies is also a good example of that, you can play on your own but the difficulty is usually high enough to make it near impossible to get the achievements/trophies you want in this game mode. When you want to do the easter egg in zombies it will almost always require a full team of four to do it, which means once again teaming up with strangers if none of your friends play that game. Not that it's so bad to play with strangers but somehow I always end up with rage quitters, griefers and toxic players that are just a complete waste of time.
So bots are better than people?
Have you played Pay Day 2? Then you know that's not true! But sometimes it's nice that you can at least start a mission or do something without having to count on other people, sure most of the work will fall on you but at least you can play and you have a chance to win as small as it is. If you have to play with rage quitters then it will be very difficult to get things done. In Overwatch during the Halloween event I tried to get the not a scratch achievement, the amount of times people would rage quit the moment the door would take damage (if you want to get the achievement the door can't take any damage) is absolutely ridiculous. I understand why they did it, but I don't think that makes it right. I guess certain games just make bots a bit less effective so people will try to play with other people, which is once again a subtle trick of the developers to get people to play games together.
A lone wolf doesn't belong in multiplayer?
Maybe not, but a lone wolf can get things done. For example in certain multiplayer games a lone wolf can absolutely carry a team, but it's often more fun and probably smarter to work together as a team. I mean a team based game should be played that way, because if we all go our own way then how are you a team? I know that in Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer a lot of people love to go their own way and that can go well for them, but they can just as well get killed by someone because no one was watching their back. I know that it might not seem that much fun to play games with strangers but you could try to make the most of things. Sure not everyone is going to be friendly and no not everyone is going to be helpful either. But if you already consider your team as a burden without even saying a word or giving them a chance then you won't make a lot of friends out there. Games are often a lot more fun with friends and if your friends don't play the same games as you then it might not be a bad idea to make some new friends.
