Watch Dogs 2, the sequel no one wanted?

The first Watch Dogs game wasn't that popular, sure there was a lot of hype at first but once the game came out not everyone was so happy with it. But there's a sequel now and this makes a lot of people wonder if this is something we really want. I still think you should give a game a chance, of course it's easy to judge before actually playing the game, but let's see if Watch Dogs 2 is going to be as good as I hope it will be.

New main character?

Not everyone was a big fan of Aiden Pearce, the main character from Watch Dogs, so we get a new main character in Watch Dogs 2 Marcus Holloway. Marcus is a member of Dedsec, the hacker organization that fights against the government taking full control over everything., and will do some illegal things to stop certain people from controlling the people in San Francisco. I actually like that you get a new character and that it takes place in another city, that keeps things fresh and I think the story was done with Aiden anyway. I think that Marcus is also a more interesting character because he shows more emotions and is more athletic so you can now do some crazy parkour moves.

You're a different type of hacker?

You still have your phone to fool around with but that's no your only hacking tool, now you also have drones that you can use to hack things. For example a flying drone that can scout ahead and hack things from a distance or a drone on the ground that can sneak through a group of people and then hack things without you being in that room. That's pretty cool and keeps the possibilities open for different tactics. For example you can use stealth to get to your target, use force to get to your target or use tricks (you hack things to distract or eliminate enemies) to get to your target. Whatever you prefer it should help you get further in the game.

Why should you be interested in this game?

Because Watchdogs 2 offers you a lot of fun with hacking and having an open world adventure with a main character that actually likes being in the game (if Marcus would break the fourth wall he'd tell you that he loves doing what he's doing!). There is a lot of energy in this game, not just in the movement but also the hacking and dynamics of the main character that makes you want to do things in style or just rush in and go crazy! I know that Watch Dogs was a bit of a disappointment but I think that Ubisoft might actually redeem itself with Watch Dogs 2, at least it sure looks cool and interesting at this point. I guess we'll have to wait and see if Watch Dogs 2 is really an improvement, hopefully it will be more fun and gives you more to do!
