ReCore, an unexpected surprise?

I have to admit that when I first heard about ReCore I wasn't really interested, I guess I didn't give the game a chance to show what it had in store and so I kind of ignored it but with the latest trailer I'm totally on board with this game! I mean wow it looks cool and interesting, a bit of platforming, some puzzles and of course some fighting. I think this might be a very interesting game!

What is ReCore?

To explain that let me first say that the developers from this game come from the creators of Mega Man and people that worked on Metroid Prime, so combine that and you get an impressive game called ReCore. But that still hasn't answered the question, what is ReCore? Well ReCore is a game where you play as a woman called Joule and you're one of the last humans on the planet, you want to escape but that's easier said than done. Machines are hunting you down so she has to come up with a way to survive, so she makes robotic allies that help her in fights and move over obstacles. For example there a tank robot (looks like a big gorilla) that can protect you and do a lot of damage, a spider robot that can climb certain walls and shoot from a distance or a flying robot that can pick you up and take you to platforms that are too far for you to jump and/or glide to. There's a total of five different robot companions that will assist you in the game, so it's the trick to find out what you need at a certain point. Then there is some serious platforming that will put some of your platforming skills to the test and there will be battles against robots that will try to kill you. So I doubt there will be a boring moment in this game!

What makes this game so interesting?

I like the fast movement and combat combined with working together with your robotic companions to solve puzzles or to help fight in battles. I think one of the developers said it's easy to learn but difficult to master, which is something I like. So you don't have to be an expert to beat the game, but at the same time people that like a challenge can get one. I can't help but get an explorer feeling from this game, to travel around on a strange planet and being one of the last humans that kind of puts the weight of the world on your shoulders. But I'm really curious about the robotic allies and how that all works in certain situations, for example can you combine them or have different solutions for puzzles and maybe even have a completely different fighting style when using a different robotic companion in a fight? I can't wait to find out!
