Injustice 2, do we really need this?
I'll be honest with you, I never played the full game of Injustice (I played the demo and it didn't really motivate me to buy the game for the full price) and hearing that there will be a sequel really surprises me. Not that the game was absolutely crap, but it seems a bit weird to make a game with super heroes and then just let them fight eachother and then have some mediocre story in the middle. Maybe some people love that, there are other people who would rather play a game like Batman Arkham City and have fun with that!
What is Injustice 2?
Just like in the the first game it's about heroes and villains fighting eachother. But that's too easy to just call it a fighting game, eventhough in the core that's exactly what Injustice 2 is. The story in the first game was about what happens when heroes become more like villains, because Superman killed Lois Lane (the Joker hit him with some hallucigenic gas that made him see things differently) and after that he completely lost it. After first killing the Joker with his bare hands he decided that he would be a better ruler and keep everyone safe wether they want that or not. Things clash when heroes from another Earth (still the same heroes but from another Earth or maybe the Earth where Superman rules is another Earth?) end up on that Earth and try to get home but not before they try to fix things on that Earth. So I take it Injustice 2 continues where Injustice left off and that means more fighting and some new characters.
What's new?
Some new heroes and villains, but also new special moves (for example Batman has now a pretty cool move, I don't like his Batmobile move) and new areas you can fight. Supergirl is one of the new characters and she has an awesome special move, then there's Grodd (the big talking and telepathic gorilla) and Atrocitus (founder of the Red Lantern Corps). There will be more new characters but they will be announced later, at least I certainly hope so. The fighting is still pretty much the same idea, nothing too brutal (like Mortal Kombat) but still some intense hero/villain on hero or villain fighting action.
Is this a game you should be excited about?
That depends, do you like fighting games and like DC universe characters? Then this game might be just for you! If you're not certain you can always check out Injustice and see for yourself. I get the feeling that this game might be an improvement but at the same time this game could be more of the same but now with some new characters and perhaps some new moves and areas. I personally don't like fighting games that much but this one does look pretty cool, but compared to some of the other big titles I don't think I'll be getting this game. In the end you have to make decisions and you should stick to what you like. But if you like fighting games and want to beat up some heroes and villains from DC comics then this game might be something for you!
