Dishonored 2, now with 2 playable characters!

Everyone that loves Dishonored is going to love Dishonored 2. Why? Because now you can choose between two playable characters, Corvo and Emily, and Corvo can speak (he probably could speak in the first game but he just never says something). So how can you not be excited about this game? I guess if you don't like stealth games and like to kick a door in and shoot everything with an overpowered gun. But if you give Dishonored 2 a chance then you might actually like it!

Corvo or Emily?

After a short intro playing as Emily you have to choose your character, this choice will be very important because if you pick Corvo you will play Corvo for the rest of the game and the same counts for Emily. So you should pick wisely! The character aren't really that different, I mean it's not like Emily uses stealth and Corvo goes for the loud action. They both use stealth and pretty much the same weapons. What makes them different is how they react to certain events in the game and their powers. Especially their powers are giving you a unique gameplay with them, so Corvo has his old tricks from Dishonored but now more powerful and Emily gets completely new powers. So it might be tempting to play as Emily to check out what's new, but for some Corvo fans it might be difficult to ignore him. The good thing is that you can always play the game another time and then pick the other character!

What's new?

Mostly the powers of Emily, which is a good thing. Because you shouldn't change a good game too much in the sequel. But stealth is improved and you can now lean around a corner without showing too much of your body which makes it a bit safer to peak. But what probably really interests you are the new powers of Emily. So Emily has a power called mesmerize, this allows her to distract enemies and help her sneak past them without killing anyone. Then there's domino which links the fate of one enemy to all the other enemies that are linked to that person. So let's say you kill one enemy with a stab then the other enemies that are linked to that guy are also all dead, that usually helps you clear out a room a bit faster. Of course Emily is new, at least as a playable character, and the fact that Corvo speaks which is also a nice addition.

Why is this an interesting game?

Because Dishonored 2 is the type of game that lets you sneak around and kill enemies in a brutal way or if you prefer you never kill anyone and get to end of the game as a true ninja! But it would be a shame not to use Corvo's and Emily's powers, because they make the game even more fun. The game is definitely worth checking out because you get sucked into a story that lives and breaths all around you, not just with your interaction with other characters but also the world and everything that happens. It's fun to sneak around and be that person that shows up out of nowhere and eliminate an enemy and no one ever knew you were there. I love that! There are multiple ways of playing this game so once again it gives you the chance to enjoy the game for multiple playthroughs. I'm excited about this game and hopefully I can play it as soon as it comes out. I can really recommend checking this game out, you might actually like it even if you're not a big fan of stealth.
