Do you have to complete a game?

Have you ever played a game that you had to complete? Not just completing all quests or missions but also find all the collectibles, win all the mini games and pretty much do everything that you can do in that game. It's extreme but when you really love playing a game then why would you want to stop playing it? Oh right there are other games you also want to play...

Can't stop, won't stop?

Sometimes certain games can be very addictive, not just because you're having fun but also because you just don't want to stop playing. It's difficult to say farewell to certain games because somehow you know that once you stop playing you might never play that game again. Maybe never isn't the right word, but you probably won't play it again any time soon. So that leaves you with a difficult decision, are you going to keep playing it until you're completely done with the game or stop playing and maybe pick the game up later? It seems simple to just quit for now but sometimes new games just keep coming and you end up not playing this game for months and sometimes years. I remember not playing a game I just bought for two years, yes I'm not kidding you! It's not that I didn't want to but I just kept playing other games and then I would forget, which was silly but when you're having fun in a game I sometimes forget other games even if it's just for a moment. This is exactly why I prefer to first finish a game before I start with another game because I hate leaving a game unfinished and then having to jump back into it at a later date. It's very confusing and makes it less fun, besides don't you want to know how it ends?

You don't have to finish every game?

That's true, not every game requires you to finish it. For example multiplayer games are often without a story and just exist out of multiplayer matches. A good example of this is Overwatch, a fun game but there is no need to keep playing it because the story of the game is in the background because what you do in the game is just clashing with other people in multiplayer. Which is fun but not something you need to do constantly. But when I look at a game like Dragon Age Inquisition I have to beat the game first before I jump into the next game. Eventhough the game takes you several days to beat you have to commit, because otherwise you don't know what happens and I can't stand that! Even frustrating games are games I often beat, not because I enjoy playing the game but I just want to know how it ends and then I can pretty much bury the game and never play it again. Ok that's a bit extreme but I hope you know what I mean. Only games I really dislike and that frustrate the fuck out of me are games I just abandon, no need to put time in a game that is just torture to play. I guess we all play games in our own way, if you feel comfortable with playing games for a bit and then switching to another game then that's your choice. I personally couldn't do that, it would drive me crazy!
