Mass Effect Andromeda, what happened in the latest trailer?
Have you seen the latest trailer of Mass Effect Andromeda? It shows you more about what you can expect in the game and what actually is going on. Sure it's mostly just flashes and small fragments of cinematics but it already gives you some more information of what you can expect in the game.
What is Mass Effect Andromeda?
From what I learned it's about seeking out other worlds where people can live far from Earth. Which is why they are on a journey that takes about 600 years, this also makes it a one way trip. Multiple big ships, you could call them arks, carry several different species that are looking for another place to call home. You play as one of the Ryder twins, either as Scott or Sarah Ryder. Something goes wrong when they arrive at their destination and that leaves your character in charge, depending on who your character is that will either be Scott or Sarah. It's then up to you to keep your crew alive and group up with the other ships, since it seems only your ship was the one that crashed. What this all exactly means and why the aliens are so hostile towards you there is still a mystery, but maybe more answers will come with the next trailer.
So you're explorers?
That's the main thought of the whole Andromeda expedition, but that doesn't mean that they didn't come prepared. There are soldiers with you and you also have the weapons to defend yourself. Looking at the latest trailer you will need all that to stay alive! But it's mostly about the squad you lead and discovering new things. That means driving around in the Mako and maybe go to other planets and explore. This sounds like a great thing to me, because combat and conversations are great but I think a lot of people just want to explore new worlds and discover new things.
Will this game be more of the Mass Effect trilogy or is this game different?
As far as I know things look similar and that's not a bad thing, sure new elements like exploring aren't really that new because in the first Mass Effect game you could do the same thing in the Mako but now things look much better and are hopefully also a lot more interesting! The conversations and relationships are also back, so be sure to spend some time with your crew because who knows you might actually get along. But let's be honest, did you really think that this game would be completely different? Maybe there are new things in this game that have yet to be revealed. I'm happy so far with Mass Effect Andromeda, it looks absolutely amazing and I can't wait to play it!
