Play your class/role in the game!

One of the most frustrating things in a team based game are people that don't play the class/role they have. So a healer that doesn't heal, a tank that doesn't protect others and a damage dealer that does hardly any damage. That's the type of stuff that makes me very annoyed, because why pick that class/role if you're not going to play it? I guess some people just see things differently or some people are just trolls.

Why aren't people doing their job in the game?

Well that probably has something to do with how people think and also with how much experience some people have as a certain class/role in the game. The biggest problem or issue with certain teams is that there is no communication, which means that a tank is moving up and expects the healer to follow him or her. But if that healer has other plans and doesn't say anything then it's easy to see how things can go horribly wrong. Then there are also people that don't know how to play as a certain class/role, which then often leads to mistakes. Some people get mad at new players but we all have to learn this at one point, so I think you should give new players some slack. That doesn't mean that it's ok that a healer doesn't heal, but there are multiple ways of telling someone something. Yelling at someone and insulting that person doesn't make that person want to listen to you and I doubt that your team will win with that type of behaviour. There are also people that just love to troll, a healer that doesn't heal will then stand in front of you and wave or do other emotes and just refuse to heal. At that point you have already lost, because when you're in competitive multiplayer you need people play their class/role and do their job otherwise you just end up losing.

Can you avoid people that don't play their class/role?

Sure, if you have a group of friends that want to play that game with you then you should be fine. The real problem is when you join as a random player a group, then you don't know what you get and things can get really good or really bad. The problem is that you can't really avoid annoying people, the same way that you have to deal with new players every now and then. I don't mind that but it gets frustrating when you constantly end up in a team of new players and the other team is full of veterans, because I would expect to win these matches. So the only way to truly avoid playing in a team of trolls or new players is to have your own team of friends. Assuming that your friends are experienced players that aren't trolls.
