It's easier to buy money than earn money in games?
A lot of developers count on you being lazy or too busy to earn money in games, which is why they offer you to buy some money in the game. This way you get (faster) acces to certain items in the game, that way you don't have to wait till you earn them or until you have earned enough money to buy these items. But is that really the easiest way and is that a smart move?
Buying money is dumb?
I know that a lot of people spread their hate for having to buy money, but the thing is that nobody has to buy money. This is an option and if you don't want to do that then don't do it! But does that automaticly make someone dumb because they do buy money in a game? I think a lot of people are busy, they don't always have time to spend weeks or months on a game just to get certain items in that game. Even when you do have the time for that do you really want to spend several weeks or even months on one game? I did that with Guild Wars 2, I wanted to earn extra gold to buy more character slots, and I got sick and tired of that game after I played it for a month every day. Sure I got my extra character slots but I also didn't want to play the game anymore. I guess it would've been smarter to just buy those character slots with real money because then I wouldn't be disliking the game. It was my mistake to think that it's better to earn the money than to buy it, because sometimes it's better to buy the money in a game because that saves you time and should keep the game more interesting. If you go for a money or experience grind in a game then that's not going to be fun, in the worst case scenario you probably don't want to play the game again. So maybe it's not that dumb to sometimes buy money instead of trying to earn it, especially if earning would take a long time.
It's easier to buy money than earn money in games?
Absolutely! But the problem is that you spend extra money on a game, money that not everyone has. So the question should probably be, is it worth it to spend extra money on a game? That really depends, because if you really enjoy playing a game and want to get the dlc or other things that require money to get them then you might want to spend more money on that game. But if you don't like a game, don't have the money to buy something extra for that game or just don't like what they have for sale in the game then you can just ignore that. I like certain games a lot, I buy the dlc and sometimes even extra stuff just so I have something new in the game. But that comes with a price and sometimes you just want to save up for another game. I guess we all have to make descisions and that's not always easy. The smartest move would be to think before you buy, buying things on impulse isn't a smart idea and you might actually regret that. So maybe not give up on earning money in games, sure it takes longer but sometimes that is the smartest move.
