Titanfall 2 (multiplayer)
If you played Titanfall then you're already quite familiar with Titanfall 2 multiplayer, but it's not exactly the same. At certain points I think that Titanfall 2 has improvements in multiplayer and with other points I think that it's not an improvement. But this is my opinion, I'm not stating facts.
Titanfall 2 multiplayer is similar to Titanfall multiplayer?
In certain ways it is, mostly in the basic things. For example the wallrunning, several weapons are from Titanfall and also some game modes are pretty much identical to Titanfall. But that doesn't make Titanfall 2 a cheap copy of the first game! Titanfall 2 has new types of titan, instead of just having the small agile, medium and big and slow titans you now have actual types of titans with each type having its own name. For example the Ronin titan has a big sword that you can use for a cool execution, block projectile damage and he carries a shotgun that no other titan has, then there is Scorch that is a big bulky titan that has no dashes but does have a big incendiary canon, can create a fire wall and place thermite gas that can be ignited which all does damage over time and you can also play as Northstar a titan that has a charge sniper rifle which at full charge does tremendous damage, this titan can hover for a short time and has a special ability to unleash a payload of rocket from the sky that will annihilate anyone unlucky enough to catch them. There are three more types of titans, Ion, Tone and Legion titans. But I haven't played a lot as those titans to give you some details about them. You also get boosts, which is something you earn when you get a lot of points in the match, for example you get a lot of kills or get points for playing the objective, and these can vary from doing extra damage with your titan, get explosive drones that seek out enemies and making all players on the other team visible with a type of map hack.
You have to earn your titan?
That's right, don't expect to get it after a minute or two by doing nothing! So the more points you earn the faster you get your titan and also the faster you can get your titan again if your first one was destroyed. This will often mean the difference between winning and losing when you are on foot and the enemy team are all in titans. So don't camp in a corner of the map, get out there and get things done! Just remember that there are sad sacks of shit that will still camp and even camp in a titan, if you ignore them they'll have a bad match because they will hardly get any points for as long as they camp in that corner.
Is Titanfall 2 multiplayer fun?
I think it is, mostly thanks to some new game modes and the new titans. It gives the game some new fun things to do and it doesn't take an expert to get some kills. The action is fast and sometimes even chaotic, but I like that and I think it makes it more interesting than slower first person shooters like Battlefield 1 for example. You just need to get used to the controls and find the right loadout and titan for you and you should be good. My personal favourite at the moment is the Ronin titan, it's a bit high risk high reward but once you learn to dodge attacks and get in close for some good hits you can really wreck some of the bigger titans out there. You earn a lot of customizable stuff, some are based on your level and others you need to unlock by doing certain things, for example get several executions or destroy several pilots or titans. You can also earn credits that you can use to unlock stuff early, so you don't need a specific level to get acces to those items. There are also no loot boxes or anything like that, you get gifts every now and then at certain levels but most stuff you just earn by playing so no pay to get cool stuff early or faster type of stuff like in Overwatch. I think Titanfall 2 is a lot of fun but I don't know if it will last against some of the other big first person shooters. I know that I got tired of Titanfall within a month and maybe the same can be said about Titanfall 2, but right now I'm having a great time playing the game and I'm happy with that!
