Youtube adventures part 21
There a lot of different videos on youtube and that's a good thing, but sometimes there are videos on youtube that get a lot of viewers and those videos are absolutely shit. I'm not talking about a bad recording or videos that just don't load, no I'm talking about people that record themselves doing something completely random and talk about it. Yes I'm talking about...
Vlogs.
I personally dislike vlogs, mostly because I don't give a shit about the life of someone else like that. Ok if something has happened and they want to talk about it then that makes sense. But there are people that make a vlog of them eating something and they talk about that. What really surprises me that there are thousands, sometimes even millions, of people that watch this crap. Does that mean that there are a lot of idiots viewing videos on youtube or am I just missing out on an easy way to get views?
The truth is that not everyone that makes a vlog gets views, so before you start making vlogs just realize that you're not the only one and if people don't already know you then it might be difficult to get noticed in the video ocean of youtube. That pretty much counts for every type of video you make actually, but with vlogs I get the idea that people are trying to get some attention. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't help but get the idea that people who make a lot of vlogs, about five a week is already a lot in my opinion, are attention whores. Maybe that's kind of harsh to say but honestly what is so amazing about your life that others have to see that?
Maybe the biggest problem is that I don't understand the lure of vlogs, that it completely escapes me how people spend time watching videos of other people doing mindless things. No not the type of things that can be funny, but eating and drinking or walking down the street talking about some random nonsense. Of course there are people who do have interesting things to say, maybe an update on their channel or something good or bad has happened to the youtuber and he or she wants to talk about that. This makes sense and I get that, but all the other crap is just a complete waste of time in my opinion!
If you do want to make a vlog then try to make it interesting, if it's just you talking about what you did that day then I doubt many people are interested in that unless you already have some youtube fame. But if you had a real adventure, for example you went out into the woods and you saw a bear or something else amazing then that makes more sense. Maybe something happened in your life that made an impact on you and you want to talk about that. The fact is that people will be looking at you, so to keep your audience hooked on your video you have to make it interesting or you're going to lose them. Something that counts for most videos by the way.
I personally don't care much about vlogs, but the closest thing I do to making a vlog is my monthly Sunday with a sinner video where I talk about random things. Sometimes something I saw in the news, other times when something happened to me and then there are times when I'm just thinking about something and decide to talk about that. I know it's not always interesting but sometimes it only takes one person to reach with your video, so if that person likes your video or thinks that the video was helpful or interesting then I can be satisfied!
