Rainbow Six Siege: Dustline dlc operators and map

It's been some time but we finally get some more new operators in Rainbow Six Siege, this time it's two Navy SEAL operators. One attacker and one defender, Blackbeard with his guns shield and Valkyrie with her sticky cameras. Surprisingly they're both pretty good and fun to play! Why surprisingly? When I look at Buck from the Black Ice dlc I wasn't too impressed when they announced the gun shield, I thought it would be another attachment for your gun and be just as much underwhelming. But I was wrong, Blackbeard is very useful and Valkyrie can give additional support with her cameras that everyone on the team can use. So these new operators can really make a difference!

Blackbeard.

This guy doesn't just look tough, he is tough! The moment he puts his gun shield on his assault rifle he's going to be tough to take down in a straight fight. So flanking or using your C4 will become very important if you want to survive against this guy! He moves slower when he uses his gun shield but even when he's not aiming with his weapon the shield on his gun will block quite a lot of bullets if you're not aiming carefully. If you peek around corners or through windows the gun shield will give you optional protection. As far as I know the shield won't break but it will be a lot harder to see what's going on once you've deflected a certain amount of bullets on the shield. I think it doesn't lose its effectiveness but it will be harder to spot enemies once the shield gets fucked up by a lot of bullets. Blackbeard is the type of operator that takes point if you want to move quickly and he's also good for solo actions as you offer yourself a lot of protection with your gunshield. If you do get cornered then I hope you have a flashbang grenade because that might be your only escape if you have your back against the wall!

Valkyrie.

If you believe that knowledge is power then Valkyrie might be the operator for you, because with her sticky cameras she can give additional information to the team or the team can just use her cameras and spot enemies. What's really cool is that you can throw these cameras even outside, so the other team will have to be careful about that because you don't want to get spotted so early in the round! She uses a pretty good smg and also has a powerful shotgun, both work pretty good against enemies but as I figured out in terrorist hunt the smg is pretty accurate and makes you deadly from a bigger distance. But I guess we all have our own favourite weapon in the game. The sticky cameras will stick to almost any surface so you don't have to worry about that, just remember that IQ can spot the cameras with her scanner so you might want to put them in positions that are a bit more difficult to spot so she doesn't have an easy time destroying them!

Other new things in the game.

With the two new operators you also get a new map called Border, this map offers you some open areas and also close quarters combat like you would expect in a map like house. I really like the map and I won some nice terrorist hunt missions there on my own and I'm happy with that, in multiplayer it will be a bit more tricky with people camping around corners with shotguns but hopefully shields will offer you the protection you need! You also have some headgear options to customize your operator, these new headgear variations will cost you renown and the price goes up ridiculously high. But some of those look very cool! You can also put a talisman on your weapon, this is mostly for primary weapons but you can also put one on the secondary automatic pistols like the one Sledge has. Some operators also got a boost, so hopefully these will be more useful in future matches. For example IQ can now see exactly what type of electronic device is on the other side of a wall, which makes shooting it a lot easier and also makes it easier to spot objectives like the bombs. Tachanka can now get on his lmg a lot faster and also get off the lmg a lot faster, this should help you evade grenades or a thermite charge in your back a lot easier. Montagne got an upgrade for his shield because now it doesn't just block the full front but you also get some shield protection on the side which makes flanking him now a bit harder. You can also cancel an action now, so if you're placing a breach charge and someone is shooting you then you can immediately cancel that and return fire. I think the dustline dlc looks pretty good and I can't wait for the next dlc that will give us even more new operators!
