Divide Xboxlive in 3 groups?
A lot of frustration and irritation you face on Xboxlive is because of other people. I don't expect to be friends with everyone and I know that you don't get along with everyone, which is fine. But if you meet a lot of immature douchebags, sad sacks of shit or whiny squeakers then that doesn't motivate you to play online with other people. So why doesn't Microsoft just divide Xboxlive in three groups? These are age groups where the first group is for people below the age of 12, the second group is for people between 12 and 18 and the third group is for people that are 18 or older. I'm not saying that this will bring an end to all the frustration and irritation or that people will all get along but it will prevent some of the frustration and irritation you encounter if you're forced to play with kids when you prefer to play with people around your own age.
Why three groups?
I guess you could also make two groups but I doubt that people that are 16 enjoy playing against or with people that are 8, so it probably makes more sense that you have three age groups instead of two. I'm not saying that everyone that is below the age of 12 is an annoying, immature, whiny squeaker but you'll encounter a lot of people from around that age that are exactly that. Instead of being forced to play with people like that I think it's better that you split up all the Xboxlive users in three age groups, that keeps people from around the same age together, except for the 18+ group because there could be people that are 50 and people that are 20 in that group, and hopefully keeps the frustration and irritation you might encounter when dealing with other players to a minimum. Of course there's no guarantee with this system but I do think that it helps if you keep the kids separated from the adults, because I doubt a lot of adults enjoy playing with kids. Well maybe with their own kids but not with some whiny brat on the other side of the world.
Can't we all just get along?
Hah that's a good one, yeah why can't we all just get along? Oh wait because some people are just utter douchebags, some people consider fun being an asshole to other people. This doesn't mean that they're automaticly also a kid but immature behaviour is often found in people that are, yes that's right, not mature. Maybe there are kids out there that are mature, but I bet you can fill a boat with all those mature kids and fill the entire atlantic ocean with all the immature kids. Getting along with people that are annoying is difficult, sure you can mute them and ignore them but in certain games where friendly fire is on you can expect a lot of team killing and teabagging losers. Maybe for some this is fun but there are people that just want to play games, just want to play the game without having to deal with immature douchebags. Now I'm not saying that adults are so mature, oh hell no but at least it helps if you keep people from around the same age group together instead of just mixing it all up and having adults ending up in a team of kids. I don't know about you but that's not fun, so it would help if you could prevent that. Well you could prevent it to never play online anymore but with that as an option you could just throw your console and computer away and live in a cave in the middle of nowhere.
