Sex is worse than violence in games?
At least that's the idea I get from some people, especially when you look at a country like the USA. Apparently some people freak the fuck out when they see a breast or even a nipple on screen, but when a head gets blown off or limbs get sawed off in a game then it's ok. Weird...
Why is their such a fear for nudity and sex in games?
I think some people fear that kids will copy what they see in games, so if they see people having sex in games then that might inspire them to have sex as well. At least that's what I think why some people are so, agressively sometimes, against sex in games. But if that's true then I don't understand why violence is accepted, because if kids copy things from games then violence would be just as much or even more feared and should definitely be forbidden. Unless some people would rather have their kid kill other people than to have sex. But the most important thing is that kids shouldn't even be able to play games that contain a lot of violence and sex, then the mature (often adults) players can play these games and enjoy these without having this filter in the game that takes out anything that could be considered as dangerous.
Is sex really that bad?
Apparently not, otherwise none of us would be here! But of course it's not a good thing if kids are getting exposed to that, eventhough most kids from a certain age will most likely already know what's up. So at that point you might want to ask yourself what you're shielding them from. That doesn't mean that kids should play 18+ games, but that should be the job of parents and not a government that decides what games should and shouldn't have for content. Of course you don't want your kid to play a game that contains sexual content, but as a parent you should know what kind of games your kid plays. Should everyone suffer because some parents can't be bothered to check up on their kid? Besides half of the time it's pure bullshit when people scream bloody murder about sex or sexual content in a game. For example in Mass Effect (the first game) there is a chance to romance some of your team members, if that romance reaches a certain point you can have a short cinematic where you see them intimately with eachother, eventhough this is mostly with shadows and you hardly see a thing. This was enough to get people mad, big surprise the USA was one of those countries where people were so shocked with this, and they wanted to get the game banned. Even if you think that things are better now then you're sadly mistaken. In the game Overwatch, that launches tomorrow, a character pose got removed from the game because some people didn't like that one of the characters (Tracer) shows her butt and you can see the shape of that butt in the tight trousers she's wearing. Apparently some people were triggered by this and so this pose had to be removed. This really makes me wonder what kind of people exist in this world, apparently there are some sad sacks of shit that can find any pathetic reason to whine and complain. Good job people!
Sex is worse than violence?
Apparently to some people it is, at least that's the idea that I get when I look at the outrage for the shape of a butt compared to characters getting blown to pieces which seems to be just fine. Once again I'm not saying that you should expose kids to sex, but just crank up the minimum age people have to be to play this game and hopefully if parents and also the shops that sell them do their job then most kids won't be able to play these games. Unfortunately you can't stop everyone from getting these games, because some parents just don't give a fuck and then there are shops that will sell their games to anyone. But I think it's wrong to let everyone pay for that by excluding certain content or letting some games get banned. I seriously don't think that sex is worse than violence, even in a game it shouldn't be seen that way and people who do think that way have some serious issues in my opinion! I'm not saying that you should flood the game market with sexual content but when you look at the amount of violence in so many games then let us just have this little bit of sexual content, which is hardly ever anything serious, so that there is something else next to all the other stuff out there. Is that really so bad?
