Youtube adventures part 20

When you start with youtube you might have all these dreams or ambtions, but how much of that is left after a couple of months? I see a lot of people try to make it on youtube but most of them give up after some time, mostly because things aren't going so well as they first thought. I can understand that you're disappointed but you should realize that succes might not come within a month or even within a year, sometimes it just takes some time for people to find your channel and then you also need a bit of luck for sticking out in the ocean of youtube videos. My point is...

Don't give up!

I think a lot of people see the succes of some people on youtube and they would like that as well, but if that's the main reason for starting with a youtube channel then you're doing something wrong. It shouldn't be your ambition for succes that drives you, but it should be the fun you have in making videos for other people. That's what gets you through tough moments where you feel a bit depressed when things aren't working out so well with youtube. As long as you're having fun making videos then you always have a good reason to make another video.

Maybe you're wondering if you should continue with your channel if no one is watching, well that is something to think about and if youtube stands in the way of other things in your life then I would suggest that you take it easy. You don't need to upload a video every day and if you feel like making a video and uploading it then you can always do that. But it's of course important to have priorities and if youtube isn't that much of a succes then you should focus on something that works out better for you.

I'm not saying that you should give up on your channel if things aren't going so well, but it's smart to keep your options open and you shouldn't focus too much on one thing. If you really want to insist on working on your channel then you can try out other videos, if you have a gaming channel you might want to bring something new or something different to the mix. For example make videos about game history, this might be interesting for retro gamers and it could help them find games they might be interested in. If you like to vlog then you might want to switch it up with some interesting stuff, instead of showing how you eat your lunch you could show people some interesting places in your town or maybe even try to play the journalist and interview some people. These are just suggestions, but it really comes down to being flexible and make the most of your time. Don't be too quick to give up, sometimes things just don't go so well but I wouldn't see that as a sign to give up!
