Sinful Sunday: Disappointments, don't let it destroy the good things in your life!
In you life you deal with disappointments, I doubt there is anyone alive that hasn't had disappointments in his or her life. It's pretty much part of your life wether you like it or not. But it's the trick not to let it control you or influence you in such a way that you can't see a way forward. It's easy though, the moment things go wrong to just give up and no longer care what happens. But after each bad moment a good moment can happen, sometimes you do have to fight for it!
It's easy to give up, it's difficult to keep going?
It is actually, especially when lost hope. Let's say you studied really hard for an exam and you still get a bad grade, that's a big disappointment and one you have to deal with. You can let it control you or you shake it off and try again. Look at what went wrong, why did you get a bad grade eventhough you studied so hard for your exam? Improve what you can and of course try to get some help. Perhaps you can talk with your teacher about what went wrong, perhaps he or she has some tips for you. Maybe you really wanted to get a promotion and eventhough you did everything right you didn't get it. As unfair and lame it might sound these things happen. Perhaps there are other people that are also good candidates and if only one person can get the promotion then some people will be disappointed. But once again don't let it bring you down. Always getting exactly what you want isn't healthy, besides most people hardly ever get exactly what they want. Sometimes all you can do is hope for the best, which probably sounds as lame as it can be but it's a better way of looking at it than to expect to get something because you worked so hard for it or because you think you deserve it. Unfortunately life doesn't work that way, you don't always get what you want or what you think you deserve. It's important to not let the disappointment beat you, sure it sucks but there will be other chances and opportunities in the future. It's only over when you give up and make the disappointment permanent.
Small disappointments, big troubles?
Sometimes even a small disappointment can lead to big problems. For example you bought a new game and this game turned out to be very lame, which doesn't just suck but it also meant you just wasted money on a game that wasn't worth it. So this could mean you don't have enough money for another game, which means you're stuck with the lame game you bought. A small disappointment but it's causing a big problem for you. Ok it's not a life or death situation but that doesn't mean that it's ok. It's fine to be annoyed or even pissed off, but hopefully this does give you a bit of a warning the next time you want to buy a game. Don't be too quick to purchase something and always make certain if it's worth it. You can't always be a hundred percent certain but you can definitely do some research if the item you want to buy is going to be worth it or at least give you an impression if it's going to be worth it. But I would advice you again not to let this get to you, so yeah you bought a lame game but it's not the end of the world. Maybe you can sell it or even trade it for another game? Don't be too quick to give up and with some determination and a bit of luck you can get things done, even when things look bad. Disappointments are a part of your life, eventhough some have more than others, but it's the trick not to let it bring you down. Bad things happen, but it's not the end of the world! Focus on the good in your life and hopefully that will give you enough energy and happiness to get through the less fortunate moments in your life. Besides you don't have to face it all alone, family and friends can be a big support when you deal with disappointments. The only way a disappointment becomes a big problem is when you let it become one.
