Summer game tip: Pay Day 2 Crimewave edition
I won't lie to you, Pay Day 2 can be a frustrating experience but once you know how everything works and found the right build for your character it can be quite relaxing and a lot of fun. Even if you have no one else to play the game with you can just play on your own or with bots, whatever works for you. With the big score dlc for Pay Day 2 being for sale on Xboxlive I can definitely recommend you to play this game, it's a lot of fun for a very nice price!
Fun or frustration?
In Pay Day 2 Crimewave edition you're a criminal that is trying to 'earn' money, which seems simple but a lot of times it's not. For a lot of missions you have to work together as a team with other players or hope that your bots aren't going to be stupid otherwise it will be a short and frustrating experience! Pay Day 2 can be so much fun but there are also times it can be frustrating. For example when your bots keep getting themselves killed and you have to pick them up in the worst place, as in get shot by twenty cops at the same time. You might want to check multiplayer first before you dive into offline gameplay, it's not that the bots are that dumb in every mission but it only takes one really bad mission to ruin the experience for you. But don't let that discourage you! Some missions just work better with other people, you should really keep in mind that this game was designed for you to play with other people. The fact that you can play offline with bots is just service for people who can't find friendly and helpful team mates or for those that prefer to work alone. The missions are quite diverse, one moment you liberate money from a plane and dive out to collect it on the ground and another moment you storm the headquarters of the FBI and kill everyone to get some information. Something that is constantly returning are the mission objectives which usually involve protecting something or collecting items to make it further in the misison. Sometimes it's explosives you need and then there are moments where stealth is the better approach but it's hardly ever that easy.
Use stealth or go loud?
Some missions give you the option to use stealth and there are a lot of skills that assist you with stealth. It's not easy but very satisfying once you complete a mission in stealth, you also get 5% experience bonus on your next mission if you complete a mission in stealth so it's not a waste of time. But if you prefer to go in loud you can do that as well, there are also a lot of skills that help you deal a lot of damage or to help you survive even in the middle of the fight. You pick your own equipment and you can select which items you want in the mission, this can make things a lot easier but for some items you do have to pay. But don't worry about money because the game gives you a lot of money. There are missions where you can earn millions! Yes this isn't some GTA V bullshit where you only get a little bit of money. On some missions with high difficulty you can earn a lot of money but it won't be easy to earn it though! You can have multiple builds for your character, so you can make a stealth build and a tank build so you can pick what you need for a certain mission. I'm more of a tank type of player in this game but I've had a lot of fun with stealth as well, in one mission you need stealth to succeed unless you play with three other players and you're very quick in finding what you need. Most missions work well both ways, just keep in mind that once the cops show up they never stop until you escape!
What makes this game so much fun?
For me it's a relaxing experience or a way to blow off some steam, I think Pay Day 2 Crimewave edition is a great game to fall back to. If you're bored or done with the game you're playing then Pay Day 2 can really fill up that void and give you some fun gameplay. You can play with your friends or on your own, which is nice so you don't have to depend on others to get things done. The first missions are easy so you can learn things and get used to how the game works. You also level up pretty fast in this game, I think I hit level fifty in just a couple of days. Depending on how much dlc you have you have acces to a lot of characters, missions and equipment. There is also a total of 2000 gamerscore you can unlock so for the achievement hunters there is a lot of gain here. The game is now for sale on Xboxlive for gold members on the Xbox One for about 17 Euros, more or less, so if you always wanted to be a criminal and find GTA V not rewarding enough then Pay Day 2 Crimewave edition is a good pick for you! It might have some issues, enemies that glitch through walls or sometimes you get a little bit of lag but it doesn't break the game for me. The game is a fun experience, probably best with your friends, and for me it's a game I can always go back to and it's always fun to play it every now and then. It also doesn't take a lot of space on your harddrive so that's nice as well. Feel free to check it out if you're interested.
