SOS: the ultimate escape, intense experiences on an island!

Do you like games like Battle Royale and H1Z1? Then you're in luck because there is another game where you can kill eachother and group up and betray eachother! In SOS: the ultimate escape you have to survive on an island while being hunted by other players and monsters that can infect you and turn you into a monster! Sounds pretty cool, eh ok it sounds horrible but in a game it can be quite interesting!

What's going on in this game?

In SOS: the ultimate escape you're dropped on an island and you have to find a way off the island. The only way to get off the island is when you find a relic and call for a helicopter. The problem is that there is only room for three people on the helicopter which means the hunt for relics is a bloody business! Getting a relic isn't that easy though, they're guarded by relic monsters, a monster with the relic on its back, and those don't go down fast in a one on one fight. So it's smart to get help, but only one person can pick up the relic. Which means that betrayal is in the air, unless you have a bunch of really good and loyal friends that stick with you to the end. You can also be a bit more devious and wait in ambush for others to find the relic and then you kill them and steal if from them. Sometimes the game is decided in the last 30 seconds! But other players aren't your only concern, there are also creatures that can kill you or even worse infect you so you will eventually turn into one of those creatures! Yikes!!!

You become a monster?

Shooting your team mates in your group for a relic would definitely make you a monster but I'm talking here about turning into one of the monsters you encounter on the island. At first they're small and not that much of a problem but the bigger ones will show up more the further you go and often protect some good loot. The trick is to block attack while another attacks the monster, but this requires team work and communication which doesn't happen that much. Besides some people take advantage of these situations and will turn on their allies. If you're infected, which can happen from one hit already if you don't block, you have to eat mushrooms to keep the infection from spreading but don't eat too many or the infection will spread faster! There are also syringes with an antidote inside but those aren't always easy to find and other people will want those as well. Don't be surprised if a team mate will shoot you in the face when they learn that you're infected. It's not the end of the world if you're infected but it will definitely but more stress on you and make the game even harder, but in a way also more fun.

Teaming up is the way to win?

From what I've seen so far it definitely looks that way because on your own you're an easy target for groups of players and monsters are also that more tough to beat. Remember that sharing is caring and if you share your stuff then maybe you make a good friend that will return the favor. But on the other hand they might stab you in the back, I guess it's all just a gamble! If you team up there is still friendly fire so be careful where you slash your weapons or shoot your bullets because you can definitely kill someone on your team! Some people do that on purpose but sometimes accidents do happen. It's the trick to find a solid group that is willing to work together, shares items and help eachother out. That also means giving health items or even a gun to a team mate, because if you're the only one with a gun you have to do most of the heavy lifting and if another team has multiple guns you wished you trusted someone on your team with a gun. But at the same time that team mate might use the gun on you on the first chance he or she gets to shoot you in the back. It's a risky move but it can definitely be worth it, at least in some situations.

Play now?

The alpha build of the game is live now, I think only for pre-orders, on PC and it looks amazing. I really hope that the consoles also get a taste of this game because it looks really interesting. Not the typical throw people in a place and kill eachother. But this is more a game of trust, team work and discovery. Things aren't always at the same place and you never know where you spawn and what kind of people you encounter. Some will kill you on sight while others would gladly team up with you. Then there's the infection problem that might cause some moral issues but people can and will turn if they don't get treatment and once you're out then you're out! This make the game very intense and also a lot of fun in my opinion. The alpha build is available till the 2nd of July so you might want to be quick to check out this game, it looks really good!
