LawBreakers, this is the end for Overwatch?
Unfortunately for all the haters it will not be the end for Overwatch, let me immediately help you out of that illusion! I think the biggest mistake of LawBreakers is that it's not available on all platforms, right now it's only available on PS4 and Steam, so you already lose people with that and as much fun as LawBreakers might be it's not exactly the same type of game as Overwatch. So Overwatch fans can relax.
LawBreakers isn't Overwatch?
It's really lame and also lazy to make that comparisson, because LawBreakers is something different than Overwatch and what's even better LawBreakers looks quite fresh and fun. So Overwatch players that need something new in their life might find this game fun, but since it's not exactly the same as Overwatch it might not be for everyone. Some similarities are the classes, for example tank characters, dps characters and healer characters. There are two of each type of character class in the game. So the Law team has a medic but the Breakers also have a medic. This keeps things balanced when one team goes against another team, eventhough you can pick whatever you want and go pretty dumb where you play without a healer or tank. Hm...now that I think about it this is something that LawBreakers and Overwatch have in common.
Character diversity is fun?
For me it is in Overwatch and eventhough LawBreakers has a lot less different characters in the game the character that are in the game are pretty interesting. A medic with a grenade launcher and a tank with a bad ass shotgun? That looks like fun to me! But there is also hate for some characters, the wraith for example, a dps character, is a very hated character and people that pick this character get a lot of hate from other players. Hopefully this character gets looked at before the game launches in August because it would really suck if one character really is a bit overpowered and makes other people frustrated.
Is this game worth checking out?
I think it is, eventhough I don't have a Playstation 4 I really like this game and would definitely be interested in learning more about the game. The game modes are pretty simple and fun, at least most of the time. I've seen people play that capture the ball, I don't think that's the official name for the game mode though, game mode and it's pretty fun and intense at certain moments. But there is also the type of domination game mode called turf war and you can just shoot eachother in your typical team deathmatch type of brawl. I don't think LawBreakers is for everyone though, it's a fast first person shooter where gravity has less effect on you as you easily jump up on high locations or just hover up. This can lead to some interesting fights but might also be frustrating for people that prefer a more straight up first person shooter. If that's more your type of game then I would advice you to wait for CoD: WW2. But if you don't mind the futuristic fast first person shooter then this game might be something for you!
