W2K17, the most fun I've had with a game the whole year!
Last year I played W2K16 because you could get it for free on Xboxlive if you're a gold member, I had a lot of fun with that game and I seriously thought about buying W2K17. But I decided not to do it because there were so many games coming out I wanted to buy that I thought it would be smarter to save my money for that. But last week you could try out W2K17 for free, of course I took that opportunity and played the game. If you thought that W2K16 was fun then W2K17 will blow you away with fun! It probably won't surprise you that I bought the game because I just can't stop playing!
What makes this game so much fun?
Something I like a lot about certain games is that you have customization options and in W2K17 you get a lot of customization options, you can make the most realistic or ridiculous characters you want! But the fun doesn't stop there, you can also create your own intro or your own fighting style. This is nothing new, but now you can also create your own background video when you enter the arena or make your own victory celebration. This gives you so many customization options that it can easily keep you busy for many hours just creating a couple of characters and try them out against other created characters or against the real wrestling stars! I made some ridiculous characters, for example a surgeon who operates on his opponent and a Roman gladiator that someone ended up in 2017 and uses brutal force to beat his opponents. The options seem to be endless and so it feels like the fun never ends!
Solo adventures or multiplayer challenges?
You can play the game the way you want to. If you prefer to just create characters and test them out against other characters then that's definitely a fun way to play. But you can also dive into the my career mode and try to make it to the top. You do this also with a character you created and you have to fight your way through a lot of obstacles which can be a bit difficult at first but the more you play the better you become. If you prefer to play against other people there is a multiplayer mode that lets you fight against other people, wether these are strangers or your friends that is all up to you. Because W2K17 is so flexible it gives you a lot to do and a lot of things to try out, I love that about this game because if you get tired of doing one thing you can easily switch to something else.
Would you recommend this game to other people?
Absolutely! But I would like to add that it can be rough at first, timing the reversals (counter moves) can be a bit tricky for new players and it wouldn't surprise me if at first you're not that succesful. Just practice and remember that you can create your own characters, so you can give yourself a bit of an advantage if you want to in a lot of game modes. If you're looking for more serious stuff then you can check out the my career or the my universe modes, here things are a bit more fair and you actually have to do your best to win. If you just want to make silly characters and play against your friends then you can also do that. Now you can also do a promo where you do a battle of words against other wrestlers. But don't worry, it's not like words are going to solve anything but they can give you that boost or advantage you need to win. For me it's really all about the customization options, it gives you so many options and so many possibilities that I just can't stop making new and strange characters.
