Can you beat the Uprising event in Overwatch on expert/legendary?

From personal experience I can say that you can definitely beat it on expert, legendary is also possible but that will require excellent team work and when you have a team of randoms without communication then that becomes a lot harder! But it's not impossible! Here are some tips that might help you.

1 Reinhardt is the key to victory.

A lot of people think that Mercy is the most important hero in the group and I don't say she's not, but it's a good Reinhardt that often makes the difference between winning and losing. Whenever I see a Reinhardt player swinging his hammer a lot then I know I'm going to lose on expert and legendary. There's nothing wrong with a Reinhardt that wants to help kill enemies but his most important function is to protect the team and not deal extra damage. Only at the payload you become more agressive by destroying the slicers (they can do a lot of damage to the payload if you ignore them for too long), charging at the eradicators (it destroys their shield so the rest of the team can destroy it a lot easier), charging the detonators. You can try shielding the payload from the blast but that will most likely destroy your shield and then you can't protect your team for some team which means everyone will take damage which is a nightmare for the Mercy player. Bastion is really dangerous andyou shouldn't charge him unless you have an opening, you get destroyed in your charge if he sees you coming! Just keep in mind, the main focus for Reinhardt is to use his shield, assist where you can but keep everyone safe! That makes the job for the Mercy easier and means it's less likely that someone on your team goes down. I actually beat the Uprising on expert with Reinhardt, I put the main focus on defending and kept my team from taking damage. When someone goes down you shield the body so someone else can pick him or her up without getting hit. Your charge is your strongest attack so use it when you're certain you got a hit, nobody wants to see you miss and pretty much screw yourself and the team with that move! Just keep in mind, first defending then attacking if possible!

2 Mercy is love, Mercy is life.

Mercy is the one that keeps people healthy, most Mercy players would love to help attack but on the higher difficulties it's probably better if you focus on healing and damage boosting. At the payload, if there is time for it, you can switch to your pistol and help destroy slicers because every little bit of help can make the difference. The same counts for a Bastion, when everyone is at full health behind the Reinhardt shield you can either damage boost Torbjörn or Tracer or you can shoot yourself. I would strongly advice you to damage boost a dps character though. One of the worst things is having a Reinhardt or Tracer that thinks he or she can just take on the enemies on his or her own because Mercy will always keep the heals on him or her. A smart player has his or her mic plugged in and let them know that they should stick with the team. Solo charging the enemies is a good way to get yourself and the team killed! Try to focus on healing but if you see an opening for damage boosting then by all means give this to a dps character, eventhough Torbjörn is officially a defender I think in this event he's definitely a dps character as well. Some people will say that you should use your revive ultimate to save one person but I would ask you to wait a moment before you press the button. First look where the person went down, can you grab him without using your ultimate? Are the others almost dead as well? Maybe it's smarter to wait a moment and use the ult to revive everyone at once, because it sucks when you just used revive and another person on your team goes down. If someone goes down in a crowded spot then let him or her know you're going to pick him or her up, that way they can try to get out of there the moment they're revived. Some people will easily blame you if something goes wrong but in all honesty it's more often the fault of a Reinhardt than a Mercy that the team goes down. There is no way of healing a team that takes so much damage because Reinhardt doesn't use his shield or a Tracer that goes out on her own and dies in the middle of a group of large group of enemies. There is only that much you can do and when people make dumb mistakes then the team will often suffer for it.

3 Torbjörn is the ace in the hole.

When your team is crumbling then the Torbjörn ultimate can be just what you need, doing some serious damage or at least providing some distraction so your team can get to safety. But something I notice is that some Torbjörn players keep the armor to themself. Which is dumb because this is something that can mean the difference between winning and losing, especially Tracer will want the armor because with only a 150 health she's someone that dies really fast on the highest difficulties! Don't just stand next to your turret, but help Tracer with killing enemies. But always keep an eye on the health of your turret, because the time it sometimes takes to build it back up is time you could've used to kill more enemies. Don't be afraid to gather some scrap but don't wander too far off! I've seen enemies spawn instantly in front of me and on a high difficulty they can kill you really fast if you're not prepared or with your team mates. Some players will keep whining about armor but don't be afraid to give yourself some, as much as you want to help the team you should also keep yourself alive because if you go down then there is no more armor and the team loses a serious damage dealer! Your safest spot is behind the Reinhardt shield, this is often the best spot to build up your turret and it means you can build it without being interrupted. Sometimes there are players that build their turret up high, this is usually further from the team and this often doesn't help at all! Not only are you further away from the team, which means Reinhardt can't protect you and Mercy has a harder time to heal you, it also means that when enemies spawn around you that you will have to deal with that yourself and that can be fatal. Stick with your team and don't be a grumpy old bastard!

4 Tracer is a killing machine.

A lot of people hate playing as Tracer and I understand why, she has only a little bit of health and if you're bad at dodging then you'll go down really fast. On the highest difficulty enemies will rarely miss and pretty much every bot is more like an aimbot, so as Tracer you will most likely get wrecked if you go out on your own. So don't do that! The safest spot is often to be behind Reinhardt's shield, as long as he doesn't swing too much you should be fine there. Another tip is to always be on the move, bots have a harder time hitting you if you always move. Also try to move a bit unpredictable, so jump back and forth or left and right when you shoot. This might take some getting used to but Mercy will appreciate it if you don't need health every five seconds. Also don't take too much risk, I know it's tempting to put your pulse bombs on a big group of enemies but maybe you want to practice that a bit before you bring this to expert and legendary difficulty. One mistake gets you killed and your pulse bombs are al ot less effective on the higher difficulties. It can be useful against a detonator or Bastion but be careful when you place them! Don't be surprised that the trooper that you tagged with your pulse bomb is charging at you! You can do a lot of damage with your guns and if Mercy gives you her damage boost then that can really clean up some enemies! Going against a Bastion on your own is certain death, don't do it! I've tried the around the corner shooting but a Bastion respond really fast and otherwise other bots will help him to hit you. Hide behind Reinhardt or distract Bastion but whatever you do don't stand still when you're out in the open!

5 Beating the last area.

Some people think that the payload part is the worst but then you've clearly not made it to the last part where there are a lot of Bastions and also four OR-14 bots that will be very annoying to beat combined with all the other enemies. What's worse is that the mission is timed at that point, so you better move fast or you're going to lose! The biggest mistake a lot of team make is that they want to go too fast, they charge ahead but didn't take care of a Bastion that spawns behind them and then half the team or even the entire team gets wrecked by it. Try to clear as much of the area before you go ahead, at least take care of every Bastion because those are definitely one of the most dangerous enemies you have to deal with. The tank formation Bastions are actually less dangerous because Reinhardt can shield you from them while the team shoots the shit out of it. In sentry mode Bastion will rip through the shield in seconds so either distract Bastion so Reinhardt can charge Bastion or try to do some damage while Reinhardt gives you cover. Communication is very important here, move too fast or leave someone behind and the team will fail. You win this part together or lose, it's as simple as that! Even if you hate communicating I would strongly advice you to make an exception for this event because without communication it becomes a lot harder and mistakes are made more often. I actually beat in on expert without communicating, the strangest thing is that three out of the four people were plugged in with a mic but nobody talked because we were all trying to focus. Having a mic plugged in doesn't mean you have to talk constantly but for a strategy or approach is can be quite useful. Eventhough the main focus is on the OR-14 bots I would strongly advice you to take care of the Bastions first in each part of the last area. Also be careful that you don't get too close to an edge or the OR-14 will use their alternate fire attack to pull you off and that can mean certain death! I'm talking about the last part where a Bastion is in the back left corner, you need to kill that one before you move on the last two OR-14 bots. If a Bastion in tank form shows up then get behind Reinhardt as fast as you can, wandering off on your own is usually a bad idea unless there is no other way. Sometimes it's better to go back to the beginning of the last area, so don't be afraid to pull back if you have to.  Protect eachother, help eachother and focus fire on enemies and you just might make it. I'm not going to lie, it will still be difficult but when you work well together and play the character that you picked correctly then you should have a chance to win!
