Nintendo is dumb?
Before I start talking about what's wrong with Nintendo I would like to say that I started playing games on the NES, I have actually a lot of good memories of Nintendo games and some of these games I still consider as some of the best games. But unfortunately things change, what was once good doesn't stay good forever and eventually you move on.
Nintendo only has three titles that are popular?
Well Nintendo probably has more than three but if you mean to say that they often don't have the same popular titles as the Xbox One and Playstation 4 then you're right. Is that a bad thing? Well yes and no, because it's bad because that means Nintendo can't really compete the same way as Microsoft and Sony but at the same time it's also good because Nintendo puts the focus on another type of gamer. There is are some competitive games, Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers type of games, but I doubt these are interesting for everyone. I think Nintendo made a very smart move when they had the exclusive rights to Resident Evil which made the Gamecube a lot more interesting for me to buy. Also to be honest, the Resident Evil remake is probably one of my favourite games. I also enjoy playing games like Super Mario World, Super Smash Brothers, Super Mario Kart and the Legend of Zelda games. But for me that would often be it, I hardly ever bought games outside the comfort zone of Nintendo. Because let's be honest, Nintendo likes making the same type of games that give them succes and I don't blame them. But with this tactic they miss out on popular games like Mass Effect Andromeda, Skyrim and Overwatch. This makes the Nintendo consoles like your back up console or your party mode console when you have friends over. I know from experience how much fun it is to play Nintendo games when you have several friends visiting, because most games that have splitscreen usually only support a two player splitscreen while with several Nintendo games you can have up to a four player splitscreen. I know that most people these days play online games with their friends but it's nice when you visit eachother and can still play games together. I do think that Nintendo is missing out on a lot of games and that this might eventually mean the end for them as the battle between Microsoft and Sony becomes bigger and the market for Nintendo keeps getting smaller.
Nintendo and YouTube is a bad combination?
A lot of times Nintendo makes a big deal out of YouTubers earning money by showing people a video of one of their games. For example a YouTuber that plays with his friends some Mario Kart or Mario Party and then makes a video of that. Nintendo doesn't like that, they don't see the free advertisement but they see other people making money on one of their games. I've never heard Microsoft or Sony make a big deal out of it. But Nintendo is literally the worst when it comes to this and it's often because of Nintendo why a lot of YouTubers won't show Nintendo games on their channel. Nintendo America has an offer for YouTubers, they can show videos of their games on YouTube but then they also have to play certain games and make videos about those games. I know that they're trying to find a solution but it's for a problem that shouldn't even exist. There are people playing your game, they're having fun playing your game, other people see them have fun playing your game and guess what they would also like to have fun playing your game. So you get free advertising for your game and yes the YouTuber makes money for the video that he or she made. Somehow Nintendo just can't or won't accept that. I think that makes them dumb, I mean really dumb because they're really making a big deal out of something that shouldn't be a problem at all. If YouTubers would be talking shit about your game, trying to make it look bad and just pretty much make your games look ridiculous then I can understand that you have a problem with that but them having fun playing your game and making money on a video where they share this fun with others is not a problem in my opinion! Nintendo is showing an ugly side here, a greedy and dumb side that probably no one likes. Because Nintendo wants some of that money that YouTubers earn with Nintendo games videos. I'm not saying that Nintendo doesn't have the right to do that, but you're really turning into a huge greedy douchebag if you do it. I really hope that Nintendo stops being this greedy douchebag because I doubt people like greedy douchebags and why would you buy consoles or games from greedy douchebags when there are other consoles and games that you can show on YouTube without any problems at all? I really don't want to see Nintendo disappear but I think they're digging their own hole here, which is a big fucking shame!
