DC vs Marvel, the war never ends?
If you like super heroes and super villains then you live in the right time! As a kid I saw some of that but it was never as strongly present as it is now! I mean there are comics, cartoons, animation movies and series, games, action figures and of course the big Hollywood movies. DC and Marvel battle it out in almost all of these examples and the fans seem to battle it out in the comment section. It really makes me wonder if the war will ever end and that we can just all enjoy all they have to show us.
One isn't better than the other?
As much as I want to believe that it is true that sometimes one is a bit better than the other, which is fine because they pretty much balance eachother out. For example as kid I read a lot of X-men comics, those are really good! But I watched DC cartoons, for example Batman the animated series is still one of my favourites and later I watched Teen Titans. Does that make one better than the other? Maybe, maybe not. I think it's all a matter of opinion. I think most of us can agree that Marvel has done an amazing job with their movies, something DC is still struggling with but most fans still want DC to succeed. I like both DC and Marvel, I don't consider one better than the other eventhough at certain points one is definitely more succesful than the other. Marvel is more succesful with movies, but DC is more succesful with animation and games. That doesn't automaticly mean that the other is crap, I think that this just means that one is a bit better at one thing but nothing is set in stone and that amazing DC movie can still happen! Let's not forget the Chistopher Nolan Batman trilogy, those movies are really good and as much as some people hate Batman vs Superman I still think that the movie is enjoyable to watch. But in all honesty the Avengers was a way more entertaining movie and Iron Man is a lot more fun to watch in action than any of the DC heroes I've seen on screen. This is my opinion. If you feel differently then that's perfectly fine, we don't all have to feel the same way about things and it's diversity that makes the world an interesting place. If we would all feel the same way about things and all have the same opinion then the world would be boring and predictable, it's because we think differently and feel different about certain things that the world is a more interesting place!
So why do the fans give eachother so much hate?
Let me first say that it's just a small portion of these 'fans' that actually do that? Keep in mind that the comment section under certain news articles or videos is usually full with trolls, people that don't really care about DC or Marvel but just want to annoy people and make the mad with dumb comments that are clearly meant to provoke people. I can guarantee you that under every YouTube video about either DC or Marvel there is someone in the comment section being a troll, you can't stop that but you can ignore that. Instead of getting into a pointless discussion who is better you can just move on and let these people in their sad existence. If you like Marvel more than DC then that is your good right, that doesn't make you dumb or a loser. We all have our own opinion and if you like one more than the other then that's perfectly fine. Does that mean you have to state your opinion as fact? No, please don't do that because your opinion is your opinion and not a fact. It's sometimes as if people can tolerate eachother for being different and no this isn't just restricted to what they like more but also involves people not acception a religion, a culture or even sexuality. As if being different is such a bad thing. But this war between two sides where people have different opinions is something we don't need and I think deep down inside most people don't even want. We're all just people enjoying something in life, why not just accept that some people enjoy other things than you? The world isn't a perfect place but you can start making it a little bit better by spreading some love instead of hate!
