Youtube adventures part 30

I like playing games, so it's not a surprise that my videos on YouTube have everything to do with gaming. The risk of putting videos on YouTube is that people will watch these videos and that can lead to something else...

People will recognize you!

When you have a small channel like me then the chance on recognition is quite small but there's always a chance that a subscriber or viewer recognizes you and that can lead to certain outcomes. The best outcome is the fan that's happy to play a game with you, because they like your videos and now he or she is playing a game with you. That's great!

Unfortunately not everyone is always that kind, sometimes people make it their mission to annoy you during the match hoping that they mess up your video. As if a youtuber is always recording when he or she is playing a game. The problem with these people is that they won't leave you alone, they leave rude messages and sometimes keep stalking you online. I've never had this problem myself but I have played matches in Overwatch where some people made it their mission to keep killing me. I noticed this because they ignore my team and go straight for me, which often leads to their failure because they can ignore my team but my team isn't ignoring them!

Where this desire comes from to be a dick to someone that is a youtuber isn't quite clear to me. Maybe they didn't like the videos they've seen and want to let you know by annoying you? It could also be that some are jealous on your succes, well that's not the case when it comes to me (my YouTube succes is quite small), or they just don't want to be in the video. But if someone really doesn't want to be in the video then you can just leave.

It's just silly when people attack youtubers and make it their goal in the game to annoy them, I mean what sad life you must live if that's your highlight of the day. People just want to have fun, a youtuber isn't different when it comes to that but he or she will most likely try to record something and share that with others. Does that make them assholes? No it's people that try to ruin the fun of other people for whatever reason that are the real assholes. Sure we don't all have to get along but that doesn't mean you have to be an asshole to other people just because they happen to be a youtuber.

The amount of times I watched videos on YouTube and see some stupid messages in the game chat is starting to become quite common. It's like some people turn from douchebag into a sad sack of shit the moment they recognize someone. Which is a shame because it completely ruin the experience for some people that are happy to see the youtuber and would like to play a couple of matches with this person. I guess it's the risk of posting videos, people might recognize you and not everyone is going to be friendly.
