Frustrating missions in games nobody likes

If you played certain games then you're probably familiar with certain missions that drive you insane. This often makes you want to take a break or quit the game completely, because who wants to fuck around with an annoying mission when there are a lot of other fun games around  that don't have bullshit missions in them?

Here are some examples of missions I personally hate.

Escort missions suck?

If there's one type of mission I hate it's escort missions, because you often have to escort some stupid NPC that bumps into trouble every five meters. This isn't just very annoying but can also result in you failing because how do you protect someone that keeps running into trouble? They don't have a lot of health and will die if they take too much damage, if you're lucky you can heal them or they regenerate health after some time. In some games you can also see how much health they have left, so you know how close they are to death, if you're shit out of luck then the NPC can't be healed and doesn't regenerate health over time. What's worse is when this NPC also has no health bar so you don't even know how much health they have left which often leads to them dying somewhere suddenly out of nowhere and you have to start over. Yeah starting over, man that's something you probably have to do a lot with escort missions, because why would players enjoy getting through these annoying missions quickly?

Following someone without being seen is a waste of time?

This is something I see a lot in the Assassin's Creed games and something I really don't like, because not only does the person you need to follow look behind himself or herself a dozen times without any reason they also immediately spot you. This means you have to take ridiculous routes, often through hostile territory, and follow them for a long time until you're done. I think Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was the worst where you had to follow a ship with your ship through a narrow river in the dark. If you got too close you would be spotted, if you got too far behind or stuck in the maze of trees and other crap in the water you would lose and then there are guard towers everywhere that pretty much force you to take the annoying route. I don't think I've ever heard one person say that they like these type of missions and yet they constantly appear in games. That really makes you wonder if developers are actually listening to their fans!

Timed missions are frustrating?

If you think that you can relax then you're mistaken, because you have to hurry. Because if you're one second too late it's game over, which makes you rush through the game for no real reason. Half of the time this means you'll miss out on useful items or collectibles that are hidden in the game but you don't have time to look for those because you're in a hurry. It's so frustrating when you constantly need to rush yourself to make it in time because you don't know where the end it and what kind of bullshit the game throws at you to slow you down. Think of enemies that can grab you or knock you back, yeah that's fun when you have less than a minute of time left and you aren't near the exit. These type of missions are a remnant of the old arcade games and I don't think this really fits with games these days, they just bring stress and frustration to games that don't need it. Just let people play games at their own speed, no need to rush things!
