Rainbow Six Siege: Skull Rain dlc
I like dlc in Rainbow Six Siege, it gives you new things for free and it keeps the game alive. With the Skull Rain dlc you get two new operators and a new map for free. At this point it's early acces for those who have the season pass but they'll be available to everyone (after you unlock them with renown) next week.
There are two new Brazilian operators?
That's right, you get Capitão and Caveira who both look cool and have their uses in matches. Let me first start with Capitão, he's an attacker that has a crossbow with tactical bolts. The first two bolts are asphyxiation bolts that will do damage over time in a small area. You can compare them to the toxic bombs from the SAS operator Smoke, except the asphyxiation bolts will do a lot more damage when players stand in the toxic cloud but it's smaller than the toxic bombs from Smoke. Capitão also has bolts with smoke bombs on them, these will cover an area in smoke and help you disappear or move forward without being seen. These are both quite accurate ways of shooting the asphyxiation or smoke bolts exactly where you want them, if you shoot the asphyxiation bolt directly on an enemy there's a good chance he won't escape quick enough to give you an idea how much damage that does! The only problem with Capitão is that he has light armor on, this makes him quite vulnerable to damage so you might want to play careful with him!
The other operator is called Caveira and she's a defender. Her speciality is sneaking around and interrogating other operators. So if she can sneak up on someone while using her special skill she can hold that person in a choke hold and threaten that operator with a knife, then that operator will give the locations up of the other people on his or her team and then Caveira will execute that operator by planting her knife in his or her skull. It's quite brutal and not that easy to accomplish but very satisfying if you can pull it off! She also has light armor so that already makes it harder to hear her, with her special ability active she will be even harder to detect and if someone isn't listening very carefully they'll most likely won't hear Caveira approaching. It's a real high risk high reward type of character. You should keep in mind that when she gets the locations of the other people on the enemy team that their locations only stay visible for a short time, so if you want to make use of that or your team wants to make use of that then they better move fast!
The new map is called Favela?
Correct, this new map takes place in a favela (I think this is how the people in Brazil call a poor part of a neighbourhood and it's made out of simple houses and people live really close next to eachother) and it's a real nightmare for some people! There are a lot of corners and hiding places, this makes it sometimes really difficult to spot people in time and I've succesfully surprised people as an attacker and as a defender several times because there are just so many entry points on this map. Another important thing you should know on the map favela is that most walls can be destroyed, also the outer walls which means attackers can pretty much expose you. But once you learn your way around the map better you will find alternative ways to get to the objective or find sneaky spots to hide when attackers are getting close. I really like this new map and it's available for everyone. I think the Skull Rain dlc is a lot of fun and gives you something new that hopefully keeps the game alive a lot longer!
