Goat simulator is actually fun to play?

I know I'm super late with discovering this game but honestly I didn't think it would be fun to play as a goat in a game. Sometimes I should really take my own advice and not judge a game before I play it. I guess I was just busy with so many other games that I never even bothered giving Goat simulator a chance and now that I finally have given it a chance I have to admit that it's a fun game to play!


You play as a goat?


Well yes...but not just a goat but some type of weird super human goat that can do a lot of crazy things and get away with it. For example you can lick things and they stay stuck to your tongue and you can drag that then with you. So if you want to lick people, ok this sounds a bit dirty, then you can drag them with you but also cars or other things. What makes this game a lot of fun are the secrets, things that change the game a lot and make crazy things even crazier. For example turning into a buffed goat when you beat several other goats out of a fighting arena or turning into a demonic goat after sacrificing several other goats. It's hilarious and at the same time also kind of disturbing!


What is your goal in this game?


There are missions, more like objectives, that you can do and once you complete one you can do another. This should keep you busy for some time or you can just go your own way and explore the maps and discover new things. It's really fun just being the asshole goat that rams into everyone and everything and ruins everything. But also being a trick goat is fun where you do stunts and try to do a lot of crazy moves to rack up some extra points. You get points for almost everything but the crazier things get the more points you get and a combo of crazy things you do will of course earn you even more points!


What makes this game fun to play?


It's the chaos, the crazy things you can do and discovering new things. For example I went into a type of tower and ended up in a castle and got crowned as the queen of all the goats, you even get an achievement for that! Then there is this giant builder that you can push down on some people having a party in a garden, which will really bring out the sick sadistic goat inside of you. The music is a bit loud, you can change that in the options, and the graphics aren't really impressive but that's ok because the game is just a lot of fun to play! I always say that graphics don't make a game fun to play, that the gameplay and the gameplay in Goat simulator is a great and a lot of fun. Half of the time it's even unpredictable and you have no idea where you end up. Goat simulator is a fun game for people who don't take things that serious and just want to blow off some steam by destroying things.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? Mortal Kombat X isn´t just another fighting game?

You´ve probably seen the announce trailer of Mortal Kombat X, then you probably also know that it shows two familiar characters fighting against eachother. At that point you´re probably still thinking that it´s just more of the same but with a better coat of paint, I understand that pessimist look and it´s not often wrong. But from what I´ve heard about Mortal Kombat X is that it´s going to be more than just a new game in the Mortal Kombat game series. What´s new? Apparently there will be more fighting styles for one character, giving everyone his or her own favourite style to use against opponents. There was something familiar in another Mortal Kombat game where they also had weapons in a fighting style, but this seems to go a bit deeper and more unique. Of course these are just words at this point, nothing has been proven just yet!
