Metal Gear Survive...WTF?!!!

I don't think I've ever seen this much hate for a game that has just been announced. I think most people just jump on the hate wagon because it's easy or because Konami is evil in their eyes. But let's try to be objective and actually look at the trailer for Metal Gear Survive and try to understand what's going  on.


What's going on in Metal Gear Survive?


It starts when Big Boss has to flee from Mother base and just before he's in the crash and ends up in a coma for many years, but you don't play as Big Boss but as one of his soldiers that is left behind and get sucked up into an alternate universe. At least that's the idea I'm getting from this. Does this still makes sense to you? So in this alternate universe you don't have a lot of resources and you have zombies! Wait what? So it's not just an alternate universe but there are also zombies there? Yes it's weird I know. So you have to find ways to craft weapons and kill these zombies to stay alive. In the trailer they show other characters as well and they mention that you have to work together to stay alive so I imagine there's going to be some co-op multiplayer in Metal Gear Survive. At the end of the trailer you hear a big monster so if this means giant boss monsters or maybe a big Metal Gear that counts as a boss after killing several zombies remains to be seen but I can imagine why people aren't happy with this.


Why are people so mad at this game and Konami?


People are mostly mad at Konami because of the Hideo Kojima situation, in case you don't know then I suggest to look it up but it comes down to Hideo Kojima breaking away from Konami and that caused a lot of issues. One of those issues is getting a game that wasn't fully completed, the game called Metal Gear Solid V: the Phantom Pain. So because of all this people are showing a lot of support for Kojima and a lot of hate for Konami. In my opinion Konami could've made the most amazing game ever and probably still get a lot of hate for it. What makes people really mad is that they're using the Metal Gear series to promote this new game that seems to have very little to do with Metal Gear Solid game series. Imagine your favourite game series to suddenly have another game announced in it that has hardly anything to do with the game series and that completely goes against everything that game series stood for. So a kid game with bright colours in the Silent Hill game series or a Mario Kart type of racing game in the Gears of War game series. It just doesn't fit and that's the same way a lot of fans feel about Metal Gear Survive, it just doesn't fit in the Metal Gear Solid game series. I personally will try to stay objective, I can't say I'm excited about this game but I'll keep an open mind and wait until I learn more. But I must agree with a lot of the fans that it feels weird to see zombies in a Metal Gear game. They should've just called the game survive and it would've been fine!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
