Sinful Sunday: It's a black and white world?

A lot of times I read comments or hear people talk about things like they can only be good or bad, as if that's what the world is a place where something is either good or bad. But I don't think that the world is just black and white, there is so much more and to limit yourself just to thinking that something is good or bad doesn't really expand your view on the world. I'd say that it actually narrows it down to a small tunnel vision where there is only one way to go and that's forward. But since we are three dimensional beings I think that there are so many more ways we can go, for example we can go forward, backward, left, right, up and down. My point with all this is, don't be afraid to be different or think different than the majority!

When you don't like something you dislike it?

I personally find this annoying, people that will automaticly dislike something because they don't like it. As if there is nothing in between liking and disliking something. Do you know how many movies or games are out there that are in between something that you might like and something you might dislike? I watched the movie the Matrix, a fantastic movie that I really like and  then I watched the sequel the Matrix Reloaded which is a movie that was a lot less interesting but does that mean you automaticly dislike it? No, I didn't dislike the movie I just thought it was less good that the first movie. The same counts with games, sure a lot of people hate Resident Evil 5 and 6 but I still think these games are fun to play in their own way. I'm not saying that they're good, but that doesn't automaticly make them bad! Even when it comes to YouTube videos you can like or dislike videos, but how many times do you not like or dislike a video and just watch it? I bet most people actually do this, I mean just look at the amount of viewers and then at the amount of likes and dislikes. You can clearly see that most people either forget to like or dislike or don't like or dislike the movie enough to give it a like or dislike. Once again there is a lot of room in the middle between like and dislike!

The world is gray?

That's the way I see it at least, we're not all good or bad but most likely most of us are somewhere in the middle. Sure we probably end up more towards one side than the other at some point in our lives, but it still means that we both have good and bad qualities. I don't think people are all good or all bad, eventhough it's difficult to see the good in some people that have done very bad things. I'm not trying to say that there is still good in them, but at some point in their lives they most likely had good qualities but apparently the bad qualities won from the good ones and it turned them bad. Well I'm not a shrink so I can't give you the details how the human mind works exactly but it's often more complicated than you think. The point still is that we are all more complex than the simple black and white way of seeing things, just because you give money to a charity doesn't necessarily make you a good person and just because you don't give money to a charity doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. The same can be said about movies and games, sure there are good things about movies and games and bad things about movies and games. But just because you think the game is crap does that automaticly make it bad? Is a game bad because the graphics aren't as good as you thought they would be? Is a movie bad because the actor you like plays a much smaller role in the movie than you thought or actually dies in the movie? It's easy to say things are good or bad but it's so many times based on an opinion, the truth is often somewhere in the middle.
