Youtube adventures part 1

Happy New Year everyone! I decided to start something new in 2016, youtube adventures. So what are youtube adventures? It's where I talk every week about having a youtube channel and what goes on in the mind of someone that puts videos on youtube. Maybe this isn't interesting for everyone but I'm personally interested in looking back at this in a year or so to see what went on in that crazy brain of mine. You could say that this is a personal blog where I talk about my channel, what I want to do or what I have in mind and what I don't want to do (anymore). Hopefully this gives you some information about how things go with a youtube channel, with some luck I keep this up the entire year and I'll have a weekly chat with you about having a youtube channel and the videos I put on youtube.


A good start?


Let me first say that I started putting videos on youtube just for fun, I had not plan to become rich or famous and looking at the quality of my videos I don't think it would be realistic to expect that. For me it's just something I like to do, something I do for fun and don't mind sharing with others. Not all videos are that friendly though, sometimes there are rage videos or videos where I'm so annoyed that it's almost painful to watch. But that's also part of the life of a gamer, it's not all succes and happiness!


So 2016 started good for my channel, I got another subscriber (I don't know if this is someone who is seriously interested in my videos or someone that just randomly joined a channel) and that's a good thing. But to be honest with you I don't really care about the number of subscribers, sure it's nice if people enjoy your videos so much that they want to subscribe but I think that also puts some pressure on the youtuber to come up with something new to keep people interested in your videos. I can't say that I have issues with that, I just upload videos I like or videos of games that I like and share that with everyone. There is no big plan behind that, it's simple just like the quality of my videos.


I don't know what 2016 will bring me but I can always hope to improve, to make better videos (for example with better recording equipment or finally get a capture card) and make some more interesting videos. But as I mentioned before, I don't go for money or fame. I just upload videos I like, maybe that's not the key to succes but it's about me having fun with something I do. Isn't that more important? Well I think it is!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything. When I play a game with my friends then I'm not being serious nor am I serious when I start up some random multiplayer match. Sure it's nice to win but it's not everything!
