The opinion of a gamer matters?

When I first started playing games I never thought that developers would listen to you, I mean why would they? You're just someone who plays games and they made the game you played, how could your opinion possibly have any value? Oh sure some would say that it would matter but that's what politicians say as well, but in the end do you really believe that they care about what you think? Well I think that developers care about what you think, because if gamers don't like something then that's bad for business, besides I also think that a lot of developers want to make games that people like and not games that people hate.

Opinions matter?

That might not count for everyone but I think when it comes to games that your opinion matters, at least if you keep it civilized. If you just complain and whine, in other words only say what's wrong about a game without anything else to add to that, then there's a good chance that people might not be interested in your opinion. But constructive criticism can actually be quite useful to developers, so if you don't like something about a game then say what you don't like, why you don't like it and what can be done about it so you would like it. The problem with opinions is that there are a lot of them, so it's not always easy to listen to every opinion. But I'm certain that a lot of developers would be interested what you think of their game, because feedback helps create better games and that (hopefully) leads to more fun for you as  the player.

You should be careful what you say?

This is a tip for everyone that has something to say about a game, don't vent your emotions in a message that you post online because you might regret what you said. I've had moments that I was so pissed off, a game would lag, freeze constantly or just not work at all and I would be so angry that I wanted to tell the developers how much they suck. But it's better that you don't vent your anger online, it just makes you look like an idiot and even if you do have valid points they might be difficult to spot in your rant. Which is why it's smarter to give your opinion about a game when you have a clear head, you might still feel negative about the game but you'll most likely have a more objective state of mind about it and have a more respectful way of phrasing your words instead of just saying how much the developers suck and how they should be put in jail (I'm actually mild with this example, some people take it a lot further).
