Resident Evil Zero remastered
Have you played Resident Evil Zero on the Gamecube? If you haven't then now is the chance to see where it all started, no not in the mansion but with Bravo team in a train. Yes that probably sounds weird to you but that's where the game starts and you play as Rebecca, someone you probably remember from Resident Evil (she shows up if you play as Chris). But Resident Evil Zero is more than just that, you have a partner now and that creates some unique gameplay. Maybe it's less scary but that doesn't make Resident Evil Zero a bad game and this remastered version looks pretty good!
You and your partner.
You don't just play as Rebecca, after some time you meet a guy called Billy and you decide to team up against the monsters in the train. This creates some unique gameplay (at least it was unique when the game first came out) where you can switch between characters and you decide what they carry and you also have to keep both of them healthy. So you can't use your partner as a meat shield! If your partner does die then it's game over, so be certain to check up on health every now and then and make certain your partner has a weapon and ammo to defend himself or herself. This partner switching will play a big role in solving puzzles or beating some bosses. So you better get comfortable with this system because it will dominate most of the gameplay in this game.
You finally get all the answers?
I think a lot of people were hoping to get some answers from Resident Evil Zero, unfortunately it doesn't really answer all the questions and I can't say that I find the story in Resident Evil Zero very interesting. But does that make it a bad game? No, it's not as good as Resident Evil but it's definitely fun to play. You do see some behind the scenes stuff going on in cutscenes, for example you see Wesker and Birkin talk and they also observe Rebecca and Billy. You also meet a mysterious guy with the voice of an angel or is it just another monster in disguise? Resident Evil Zero shows you new and familiar faces which makes this game fun to play for new players but also players that are familiar with the Resident Evil games.
Should you check this game out?
If you've never played Resident Evil Zero and you like Resident Evil games then I can defintely recommend it! But if you're not into Resident Evil games or don't like partner switching gameplay then I wouldn't recommend the game to you. If you like Resident Evil games but hate switching characters all the time then you should play Resident Evil, RE 2, RE 3 or RE 4. Resident Evil Zero is worth checking out in my opinion, but it plays a bit different then you're probably used to and that can be frustrating. But if you manage to fight your way through that and see the game in all its glory then it's a fun experience and worth checking out!
