Sinful Sunday: Dealing with immature gamers
In online multiplayer there's a good chance you'll meet immature gamers, people who need to taunt you for no reason which can be as simple as teabagging (in case you're unfamiliar with this, it's a character crouching up and down above your corpse) up to the point where people come up with a long sentence of insults just to annoy you. That's not fun and dealing with it is even worse, so how do you deal with it without rage quitting?
Be the better man/woman?
That's easier said than done, especially when you deal with the saddest sacks of shit this world has ever spawned. How can you not have the urge to break their necks? Well just don't, ignore the immature loser and if this person keeps bothering you then you can always try your luck in another match. Staying in the match until you get angry is a mistake, maybe you don't feel like leaving but I can tell you that staying in the match usually doesn't make you happier. Of course you can make it your mission to make that person pay, humiliate that person and then continue as if nothing happened. But does that really solve something?
Revenge isn't a good idea?
I've done it a lot of times, getting back at an immature little shit and humilate that loser the same way he or she has humiliated you. But you do realize that this doesn't solve anything, this usually makes things worse where this loser will come back at you just to have his or her revenge. When this loser is a really big loser he or she will ask for help of his or her friends to get back at you, yes surprisingly this immature losers have friends and they're usually just as sad as he or she. Before you know it you have four to five idiots running after you just so they can annoy you, even when you kill all of them they'll keep coming back because hey as a sad sack of shit you need to behave like one I guess. The worst thing is that you turn into a sad sack of shit, you use their own pathetic behaviour against them and what does that say about you? Exactly you're the same immature loser as the other people who do that to you, is that really worth it? I don't think so!
So just ignore and move on?
If possible that's probably the best way to deal with it, no need to go for insults or use immature behaviour against them. It's fighting fire with fire and that usually doesn't stop a fire from spreading. But what should I do if I don't want to leave a match? Well then you'll probably have to get used to the fact that some immature loser is going to annoy you, maybe you're in luck and your team is better or in deathmatch you're the more skilled player and just beat him or her fair and square. Just remember that immature losers usually roam in packs online, so don't be surprised to see more than just one in a match. The best thing is that you don't have to play with these people, you can simply just ignore and move on to another match or do something else. That saves you frustration and keeps you happy, unless you like crushing immature losers online. I guess then you could try and do that, but that usually only leads to more immature behaviour on all sides. At times like that I really miss the offline time when you didn't need to deal with some immature loser on the other side of the world, but the good thing is that you don't have to deal with it now either. At least if you can just move on and ignore the immature losers, because even if the immature losers win, they're still losers.
