Rise of the Tomb Raider gives you 30 to 40 hours of gameplay?
At least that's the latest news around this game. I must admit that I would welcome that, eventhough I'd have to find extra time to play all those extra hours next to the load of other games that launch around that time as well and I don't want to miss out on those either. But I'm not complaining, more is definitely good in this case!
More time to do what?
The areas are bigger and you have more things to do, the skill trees have now up to 50 skills (if I'm not mistaken) so there's a lot of unlocking to do. If you want to unlock that many skills then there has to be a lot to do, eventhough you could backtrack in Tomb Raider and get collectibles and improve your skills with the extra experience. I don't know if that's possible in Rise ofthe Tomb Raider but I would definitely welcome it, because having to replay the story again just for collectibles sucks! As you saw in the trailers there will be different locations and it doesn't all take place on one island as it did in the previous Tomb Raider game. From what I heard you have a lot of exploring, translating and survival tricks ahead of you so I hope you're ready!
Should you care about RotTR?
If you like action/adventure game, if you enjoyed playing the previous Tomb Raider game and if you have fun with exploring new things then Rise of the Tomb Raider might be a game for you. I know that there are a lot of other games launching around the same time and it's difficult to make a decision sometimes, but the trick is to find which game suits you best. So if you don't like first person shooters then Halo 5, Fallout 4 and Black Ops 3 are already out of your list. If you're done with Assassin's Creed then you don't want to give AC Syndicate a chance then you can also ignore that. If you don't like playing on plastic instruments then you can also skip Rock Band 4. I guess that already made some room for you to buy Rise of the Tomb Raider. Unless you want all of those games, I guess then you'll have to make some tough decisions!
