Bungie wants you to play Destiny the whole year?

If there's one thing that sticks out for me when it comes to Destiny it's the fact that things go slow, ok some players get good loot fast but that's a small group and I'm pretty certain that casual gamers who spend a modest amount of time in Destiny don't have a lot of good stuff. It's because the loot drops in Destiny are awful, I really mean awful as in not getting what you want and spending hours, days, weeks or even months trying to get what you want. If you want that and if you like that then Destiny is perfect for you, if you hate that then I suggest you move on to another game or at least stop expecting too much of  the game when you play it!

Bungie slows you down?

It feels that way to me, I mean I'm four days into the Iron Banner event and I've played over fifty matches and do you know how many armor pieces I've seen being awarded? Just one, leg armor for a titan and the guy that got it already bought that. I see also class items (titan mark, hunter cloak and warlock bond) drop but I don't consider that as armor and at the same time it's also something you can buy from Lord Saladin (the Iron Banner vendor). So are Iron Banner helmets, gauntlets and chest armor even available in the Iron Banner? Because at this point I'm getting the idea we have to wait several weeks to get the next pieces of the Iron Banner armor in the next Iron Banner event. It's a great example how Bungie slows you down, as they also reduced the amount of strange coins and motes of lights you earn whenever you gain a reputation level with a faction. Oh sure it's just one less but once again it's in your disadvantage, I really wish things would work out for you and you can get things done without having to spend months in a game. I don't know about you but I want to play other games and not spend every week(end) in a game just hoping to get new things.

No one forces you to stay, right?

That's right, you can leave whenever you want. But I must admit that it feels wrong to leave a game just like that, I want to leave it (even if it's just for a moment) in a good state and not halfway while I'm getting exotics or completing missions or armor sets. Perhaps that's my problem, I don't have the time to spend weeks or even months on Destiny the Taken King. Eventhough I strongly get the idea that this is the plan, play Destiny as much as you can and for as long as you can. Bungie keeps releasing new things the further you get in the game and so keeps players tied to the game, because people that like the game want to discover new things or check out the latest addition to the game. As long as you're not done in a couple of weeks or even a month. I would love to get as much stuff before I start playing the next game, instead of leaving Destiny now and having my characters in the middle of their missions and quests for gear.

Destiny isn't for everyone?

That's something I clearly learned after more than a year of playing Destiny, it's the type of game that is made for people who play with other people and that want to spend as much time as they can with other people in this game. If you don't know anyone that plays this game and don't want to spend too much time on this game then you might want to pass or be in for some disappointments. Because Destiny will slow your progress down to the point where your loot drops are crap almost every day, with a slight exception every now and then, while you struggle through the endless amounts of enemies that give you nothing but a headache. Yeah it's a good idea to move on at that point, there are other games out there and spending months on one game is just not worth it. Maybe it is for some but not for everyone and I've discovered that Destiny is just not for me. At least not for the long run, it's for for a couple of weeks but things get old and when you can't make any progress because of horrible loot drops and there's no chance in hell to get certain things where you need a fireteam for then it's better to move on to another game. If a game causes more frustration than happiness then it's time for something new and  there are a lot of new games on the way!
