Need help with games? Screw you!
That's harsh but that's the idea I get when I see these requests online, people that need help in a mission or just want to play with other people in multiplayer but are just ignored or sometimes even mocked. It seems that developers have created a culture where you need to play with other people but if you don't know other people that play that game then you're screwed. Sure you can try your luck online and hope some nice person helps you out or is looking for help just like you and doesn't mind teaming up with you. This seems simple and it should work, but somehow I see hundreds of people online not getting into a team and missing out on some multiplayer rewards.
People don't want to help other people?
I don't think it's that simple and let's not forget that there are people out there that do try to help as many people as they can. But the problem is that there are so many out there that need help and there aren't enough friendly people out there to help all of them. You could try your luck in a forum and hope that someone notices your message in the ocean of other messages where people all need some help, unfortunately the chance that you get a serious reply with someone that's willing to help is actually quite small. Sure some people get a hundred replies and then there are people who get no replies, it's pretty much a who posted first gets served type of deal. So I don't think that people don't want to help other people, it's more the problem of the amount of people that need help and there aren't enough people to help them.
Why aren't people that need help communicating with eachother so they can help themselves?
Ah yes, logic! Unfortunately logic doesn't exist in such places, I see hundreds of people asking for a team but if they would just reply to the person above them they could already be in a team. I'm not saying that's a guarantee but it beats waiting for a reply that will never come! Maybe it's scary for some people to ask a stranger for help, but if you really want to get a certain achievement/trophy or other rewards then you'll have to reach out or move on to another game. I guess that's easy to get discouraged when several people don't want to team up with you, either you're not a high enough level in their eyes or they don't think you have enough skill to play with them. I'd say you're better off without them, because people who think like that are clearly not worth your time! The best advice I can give you is to be social online, talk with others and be friendly. If people like playing games with you then there is a chance that they want to team up with you more often. Hopefully this works!
The developers are to blame?
I think so, because they put this need to play as a team shit in a game. That's a subtle way of forcing people to play together or otherwise you don't get the achievement/trophy or other rewards. I really hate that, this need a team to get further nonsense. What's wrong with playing solo? Is it a crime if you enjoy playing on your own? Apparently it is because if you want to get all achievements/trophies in a game that has multiplayer then you can bet your ass on it that at least one of those achievements/trophies is multiplayer related. If that's not bad enough then there are also games like Destiny where you can only obtain certain powerful weapons or armor if you play in a team, for example raid gear or certain exotic weapons. I call that utter bullshit because this way at least half of the players will have to miss out on that and that makes PvP even further unbalanced because a group of people will have the fancy armor and weapons and the others (often randoms) can eat shit and die in PvP. But that's the way it is, just as it is in real life. Some people get all the good things and others are left in the dirt, so thanks for helping us remember that developers!
