YouTube adventures -76- Why do you record with a camera?
This week I got a question I expected someone to ask years ago, but apparently nobody really cared or perhaps I missed the question. It's a simple question and I have a simple answer for it, but I think it's better to give a more detailed explanation here. So what is the question?
Why do you record with a camera?
If you have ever seen one of my videos on YouTube then you'll notice that I record with a camera, a low quality camera that doesn't give the best quality for YouTube videos. What's worse is that the camera isn't working that well anymore, which means I can only record for a short time and that means there are a lot of things I can't record anymore. For example multiplayer matches or playing with friends, which sucks but sometimes you just have to work with what you have.
So the reason why I record with a camera instead of a capture device is pretty simple, it's because my capture device doesn't work with my laptop. As in I can't record anything and thus not get any content with my capture device. So I can stop competely with making videos or find something else to work with and for me it makes sense to use the next best thing which is this shitty camera.
I wish I could use something better, to give the viewers better quality videos but unfortunately that's possible right now. Every time I try to save up for a new laptop I see a bunch of new games I'm interested in and I end up spending the money I was saving up. I guess it's a choice, either play new games or get a new laptop later this year. Considering the amount of new games I'm interested in I don't see that new laptop happening this year.
The camera is hard to work with. Sometimes it can record for ten minutes, a good day, and sometimes it can record barely for five minutes, a bad day, which makes recording a bit tricky and some videos end suddenly because the camera ran out of juice. But the camera does allow me to record videos, to give you some content, eventhough it's low quality, so at least you get something. Maybe some people aren't interested in that and that's fine, but for those that want a new video from me I can give you at least something.
Of course I would prefer to record with my capture device, but for now I'll still use my camera and make the best use of it. I always hope that one day I get a chance to use my capture device and record some good quality videos. That's still the plan and hopefully one day that will happen. But for now it's the camera I have to work with and do what I can with it. It might not be much but I'm glad I can at least record something.
