Life is Strange: Before the storm, amazing game!

I'm not that quick to get excited for new games, unless they're really cool or I'm really interested in playing them, but Life is Strange was such a good game that I really enjoyed playing so I couldn't help but be super excited and curious about the prequel. But can the prequel be just as good or maybe even better than the original? Well...let's find out!

Chloe is different?

You're probably thinking that I'm talking about her voice, which is true because the orignal voice actor didn't do the voice for Chloe in the prequel but that's ok because I think that the voice actor they got for Chloe in Life is Strange: Before the storm is pretty good too. It never really bothered me and once you're sucked into the story then are you really bothered by such things? What I mean with Chloe being different is that she's not the Chloe we met in Life is Strange, she's a bit different and actually has more in common with Max. Ok Chloe is a louder and angrier version of Max but you can definitely see that Chloe isn't the punk chick with the attitude yet. But you can see her getting there, with some of the people you meet and some of the choices you make she gets on step closer to becomming the girl we all love.

Backtalking is good?

The time rewind powers of Max in Life is Strange made it such a cool game, it gave the game something unique and absolutely fun to play with. Chloe doesn't have these powers but she does have the ability to trigger a backtalk moment. This is where Chloe can summon her anger and frustration and throw a lot of verbal abuse towards another person. It becomes some sort of mini game where you have to match what the other person is saying. For example if someone say that they don't think that you should get involved you can reply by saying that you're amazed that this person can think. You can get really mean and that's actually good here, if you're too soft or don't match the replies good or fast enough then you'll fail. So if you don't feel like talking to David, in the prequel he's just the boyfriend of Chloe's mother (Joyce), in the car then you can activate backtalk and have a quiet ride to school. Backtalk is surprisingly fun and you can get really good at it. Who knew being mean could be so much fun in a game?

An amazing adventure?

I love Life is Strange and I have to admit that I had my worries about the prequel, I mean how could this game made by different developers match up to Life is Strange? But I was willing to give them a chance and I'm glad that I did because Life is Strange: Before the storm is amazing! You're back in Arcadia Bay and it's as if you never left. You see a lot of familiar faces and you can talk with them and treat them the way you want to. You don't take pictures of certain spots but you can tag them with your marker and leave a nice memento for others to see. The story is good, the characters are interesting and I can't wait to play episode 2 and 3. This game is even better than I hoped for and that's definitely a good thing! If you like Life is Strange then I can definitely recommend Life is Strange: Before the storm! I really enjoyed being Chloe the rebel but also meeting Rachel Amber was really cool, I had such a good time getting to know her a bit better and hanging out together. It feels like this game will complete the story and I can't wait to find out more in the next episodes!
