Gamers are getting lazy?
We all live in the same world, things have to happen fast and people freak the fuck out when things take a bit longer. So when you play a game peope want things to go fast, you need to level up fast and get the best loot fast. When this takes too long people get angry and they'll put their frustration on a forum or in the comment section of a video related to the game they're frustrated about. But what is really going on? Are they really annoyed that they don't get what they want fast enough or are they just lazy? Because honestly getting good gear shouldn't be a two hour job!
Gamers are getting lazy?
Sometimes it seems that way, especially when some people already complain about things when something just released. For example people want the rewards in the 14 days survival in Fortnite but don't actually want to go through the four and a half hour grind. I know that it sucks and I absolutely understand that not everyone has time for that. But you can't expect developers to throw you the good stuff just like that. If you get all the good gear just like that then what's the point of playing the game? I mean if it's not earned but given then it just feels wrong, at least that's how I see it. But don't get me wrong I'm not a big fan of the four and a half hour grind, which is why I did it once and after that I probably won't do it again. But this is the thing, it's a choice you can make. Nobody forces you to do this and you can get the same rewards from the loot llamas and still people complain. In Destiny 2 I also hear people complain about having to do a lot of effort to get the best gear. What do you expect? That Bungie just hands you the best loot just like that? I know it sucks when you don't have a lot of time to play games but try to make the most of the time you have. So instead of complaining on a website you could use that time to actually try to get what you want. When you put in some effort then good things can happen, yes I say can because there is no guarantee. But so far I've gotten a lot of cool items from Destiny 2. I haven't even grinded or did anything crazy so far, I just played missions, adventures and participated in public events. That has gotten me already a lot, so I can't understand how some people are complaining about Destiny 2. I can't help but get the feeling that some people actually expect to get the best loot just like that, without doing too much effort for it. Honestly if that is what you expect then you should make your own game and make it just the way you want to. Let's see how much fun that game will be after a week when you have everything you want and there is nothing more to get.
Not enough time to get what you want?
It sucks when you don't have a lot of time for games, probably because of school or work. In my opinion school and work should always take priority and that means that you can't put as much time into gaming as you want. Which might make you a bit frustrated that you're going to miss out on certain things. From that perspective it makes sense that you want to get good gear without too much effort, but you also have to look at other people for whom it would suck if you get everything just like that. A game is an experience, an adventure that you can go through in your own way. Yes it sucks if you miss out on something good or it takes you a lot longer to get to the good loot, but it's your adventure and you play it the way you want to. It also helps when you have friends or other people helping you. When you play on your own and you don't have a lot of time to play then playing games can be a frustrating experience. So my advice for you is to make the most of the time you have. But also try to have fun, don't make it all about getting good gear or completing something that will be very difficult for you. Sometimes you have to let go of certain things, which I know from experience and it sucks but eventually it's for the best. When you only have two hours on a day to play games then don't start a game mode in a game that will take you more than fours hours to complete. Maybe you miss out on what you want to get but there are more important things in your life than games. It might seem very important at the moment but a year from now do you really care if you got a certain item from an event? Probably not.
Earning loot is better than getting loot?
That's my opinion at least. If someone would give me all the high level loot then I wouldn't be happy with that. I mean I didn't earn that, so what am I going to do with it? Of course I can use it and yeah it would be so easy to accept it. But the thing is that I didn't earn it and part of the fun in games for me is earning loot and going through the process of earning it. It's your adventure where you go through tough moments to get to the good stuff. If I skip all that and go directly to the good stuff then that would suck. Oh at first it might be cool but a day later or week later you will get bored eventually with all the gear that you got. What is there left to do when you got everything just like that? I consider my gaming experience to be all about the journey, to get from one point to the other. Of course it's nice to get to your destination, to get what you worked hard for but the journey is more fun to me. I know that not everyone is like that, some people like to get things handed to them and will gladly accept gifts that will save them a lot of time. In my opinion that is lazy though and it seems like more and more people want to get the fastest and easiest way to get to the good loot. Which makes sense but at the same time makes me just sad. Is no one interested in the journey anymore? Are we all supposed to get what we want as fast as we can? That is sad indeed...
