Movie Monday: The Crow

This movie is absolutely amazing! I remember when I saw it first, I was just some dumb teenager in the 90's, and the movie just completely blew me away! At this time I thought that the Batman movies directed by Tim Burton were dark, well here comes the Crow that goes a lot further! The movie is old, especially considering how people call things old even if something is only a couple of years old., but absolutely worth checking out!

No rest for the wicked?

 The Crow is a movie about Eric Draven who is murdered and comes back to life a year later to avenge his death and the death of his girlfriend. You might think this is a simple revenge movie but it goes further than that. Eric doesn't just hunt down his killers but also toys with them and makes them suffer. The movie is actually a very satisfying type of revenge movie, without making the main protagonist invulnerable, eventhough he might look that way at first, which can be boring to watch. Brandon Lee plays as Eric Draven/the Crow and made it a legendary role. Unfortunately he died in an accident on set while they were shooting this movie. Which has raised the Crow to cult status among a lot of fans who still love this movie to this day.

Not a super hero movie?

 In the 90's there were super hero movies but most of those weren't exactly popular. I think most people can remember the Batman movies and that's about it. But eventhough the Crow isn't exactly a super hero, he's more of a vigilante or avenger (no not a member of the Marvel super hero team), but that doesn't mean that he doesn't belong in the line of super hero movies. Yes this movie is dark and has a tragic tale to it, but that doesn't make it less of a masterpiece that deserves some recognition!

Should you watch this movie?

 If you like a movie that has some supernatural elements, revenge theme, brutal action and an interesting story then yes you should watch this movie if you haven't done that already! Actually, even if you have watched this movie already then you should watch it again. Yes it's really that good! The Crow is absolutely one of my favourite movies and definitely worth checking out. Even if you would just want to watch it for the brutal action an eleminations you have come to the right movie, but don't be afraid to watch the other scenes too because those are pretty good too!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
