YouTube adventures -74- Where does it end?

When you start with your channel you're probably full of ideas and thoughts of where you want to go with your channel, but everything that has a beginning also has an ending. Nothing lasts forever, but does that mean you have to already think about ending your channel? Will you one day stop with your YouTube channel or will it just go on and on? This raises a question...

Where does it end?

I never thought about stopping, but there have been moments where I took a break from YouTube. Often because of personal reasons. I have a lot of ideas but unfortunately my camera is really tough to work with, low quality and short recording times make it hard to get content but I try my best to work with what I have. But it hasn't made me think to stop. It just means I have to try harder, to make the most with what I have and hopefully one day upgrade to something better.

But that doesn't take away the fact that there will be a day that I stop, I can't go on forever. As much as that day is something I can't avoid it's not something I want to think about right now. I like to live in the moment, enjoy the day I live in now and make the most of it. Why would I think about one day stopping when I'm still having fun making videos? I'd say the only way I would stop making videos now is when I can't record any videos anymore because my camera is completely broken. But hopefully that won't happen any time soon!

It's realistic though to think about stopping one day, even if you don't want to right now. I mean are you going to announce that or just one day mention in a video that this will be your last video? I think that your subscribers deserve to know if you're going to stop and not just one day get to hear that this is your last video. I don't know how much your videos mean to your subscribers, I don't even know how much my videos mean to my subscribers, but it's nice when you let people know if you're going to quit. Then people at least know, even if nobody seems to care it's at least the right thing to do in my opinion.

What remains is the question when you should quit and to be honest I don't really know. My best guess would be to quit when making videos is no longer fun for you or when you really don't have time for that anymore. For example your study, job or family is taking up a lot of your time. You need priorities and I always consider things in my personaly life more important than my hobbies. So no matter how much I enjoy making videos and uploading them on my channel there are more important things going on in my life. I think it's a good idea to always have priorities and put the things that are more important to you first. If you can combine your channel activities with other things that are going on in your life then that's great, otherwise it seems that you have to make some tough decisions. But the end doesn't have to be the very end, sometimes you can just take a break and return later.
