YouTube adventures -71- Sponsored videos

If you made a name on YouTube and got a nice amount of subscribers and viewers then it's not odd that there are people that want you to advertise for them. They get some promotion for their game or other product and you get some money for your trouble. That seems like a good deal, but does it really work and are you really interested when someone on YouTube is promoting a game or other product?

Sponsored videos.

Whenever I see a sponsored video I don't get annoyed like some people, because a YouTuber needs to eat as well and you can't expect them to say no to something they like and can earn money with. But unfortunately there are also YouTubers that will accept the deal, make the sponsored video and then you never hear them about that game or product again. Which brings me to the point of how good the product is what they're promoting? If it's so good then why do they never talk about it again?

The worst type of sponsored videos are the ones for games that the YouTuber is trying to convince you to buy or at least try out, but after the sponsored video the YouTuber never plays nor mentions this game again. So that does make you wonder if the YouTuber ever really liked that game. I'm not saying that he or she should play that game for months or make a hundred videos about the game but honestly there are people that try to sound super excited about someting but then after the sponsored video you never hear them about it again. So that does give me the idea that this was a deal just for the money and not something they truly liked.

But not everything is recorded. Some YouTubers actually do play the game they sponsored but they do that in their own time and don't record that gameplay. Which is something I understand and respect, not everything is content and you don't have to record every second you spend in a game! But it's nice to hear a YouTuber talk about a game without it being a sponsored video, I think you get a more honest answer out of someone in a regular video, especially on a channel that isn't that popular, because then there is nothing to hold them back. You can't talk shit about a game you're promoting, which makes sense but also makes it less likely for the viewers to get a hundred percent honest opinion.

I don't think sponsored videos are bad, but it's sometimes difficult to trust a YouTuber when the video is sponsored. I mean does he or she truly mean what he or she says? I don't know the YouTuber personally so it's difficult to know if they're telling the truth or if they're lying. You want to believe them and have faith in the YouTubers you like but money can make people do crazy things and not everyone is immune to its charm. I'm not saying that every YouTuber that has sponsored videos is evil or a sell out, but I would be careful not to be too quickly convinced by what they say or go for what they're promoting. Make your own decisions and if you truly like what they're promoting then you can always check it out yourself.
