Fortnite legendary edition, not a bad deal?
About a week ago I talk about buying upgrades for your game, it gives it new life or make a fun game more fun. I also talked about the legendary edition of Fortnite and how it was too expensive. But after thinking about it some more I decided to buy it anyway. Now before you say that I'm an idiot let me explain why I did it.
Supporting a game you like isn't dumb?
Instead of seeing it as if you give a lot of money to the developers you could see it as supporting a game you love to play. I enjoy playing Fortnite a lot, I play it every day for at least several hours. So spending some extra money to support the game and getting some nice extra stuff in return isn't actually a terribly deal. Sure the legendary edition is expensive, I'm not going to deny that and I'm also not going to tell you that it's a fantastic deal. But you do get some good items and if you're willing to invest in the game and see yourself playing this game a lot then the legendary edition is actually not a bad deal at all. Because I like playing Fortnite a lot I decided to buy the legendary edition because it gives me more items, more inventory space, new emblems and a lot of extra loot llamas that can give me more extra items (already got two legendary traps from a daily loot llama). I think it's not dumb supporting a game you like and that you play a lot. I've done that with Overwatch a lot too, with each event I would buy several loot boxes and it would often give me some good items and at the same time I'm supporting the game. This keeps the game going and hopefully for a long time. I also hope that Fortnite has a long life and that people will enjoy playing this game for several years. Is it such a bad thing to be willing to support that? Of course you don't have to, you can just buy the standard edition for 40 Euros and not be willing to spend more money on the game. Maybe some people got a code for a friend so they can download the game for free, which is also nice. But I've heard stories where people got a code from a friend and later upgraded their game to the super deluxe edition or legendary edition. If you truly like a game and play it a lot then why not support the game a bit?
What do you get with the legendary edition?
A lot of new emblems, a lot of loot llamas (most of those are daily llamas, which means you can open one each day you log in), 2 copies of the game you can give to friends with a code, more inventory space in your vault and backpack and you can choose 2 legendary heroes plus the legendary weapon you get with those heroes from a total of 4 different duos of legendary heroes. I picked the soldiers and I don't regret a thing. The soldier is amazing! He (or she, depending which one you prefer to play as) has warcry that gives you and people around you a damage boost and speed boost and several assault rifle boosts that make you very deadly with assault rifles. You also get a legendary assault rifle. Now the first one you get is good, but when you make progress in the game with missions you will unlock special missions that let you upgrade the rare schematic you got. So first you have a rare schematic of the lmg, then after the first mission you get the epic schematic and if you complete all missions in Stonewood you get the mission to upgrade to the legendary schematic. This is a very powerful version of that lmg that will pretty much melt enemies if you upgrade that schematic! These versions of the heroes are only available with the legendary and ultimate edition, but the abilities of these heroes are available to other heroes as well. The idea of the legendary edition is to give players an advantage, a good advantage but it's no guarantee to win because you still need to work as a team to beat certain missions. I don't regret buying the legendary edition, yes it's expensive but it gets you some good items! You can pick your own heroes, so if you're more comfortable playing as a ninja, constructor or outlander you could get those heroes instead and get a different legendary weapon with that as well. But you could also buy the ultimate edition and that gets you all 8 legendary heroes that you can choose from in the legendary edition. But the ultimate edition is only available after you buy the legendary edition, unfortunately. Is the legendary edition worth the price? That's a difficult question, but if you really enjoy playing the game and you're willing to invest more into the game then it's definitely worth it. Besides you support the game and hopefully that leads to more cool stuff in the future!
