YouTube adventures -72- Should you continue with your channel when it has no succes?
I think when people start with a YouTube channel they're full of energy and want to make the most of it. At this point you probably have expectations but you mostly, at least I hope so, make videos because you enjoy making videos. It's nice when you have succes with that, but what if things don't go so well?
Should you continue with your channel when it has no succes?
I never had high expectations with my channel, I wasn't trying to become this super succesful YouTuber. For me YouTube is just a place where I sometimes upload some videos. Sometimes helpful videos, at other times I make some fun/frustration videos and then there are times that I make videos where I talk about random things. There is no real theme on my channel, no real idea behind it. It's just me uploading videos for fun, the moment it's no longer fun I'll stop. Which is in my opinion a good idea.
It can be difficult to deal with disappointments, things aren't going exactly as you were hoping for and then you lose all interest in making more videos. I know that it's easy to give up and to just move on to something else. But if you really enjoy making videos then concentrate on that and not on how many people are watching your video. Honestly these things don't really matter if you just want to have fun making videos.
If you have big ambitions and plans to get a lot of subscribers then the disappointment will hurt even more. Which is why I advice people who start with a YouTube channel to just take it easy, enjoy every moment and try not to look too far ahead. If you have a lot of views on a video then you can celebrate it but don't consider that the new standard. There are videos that people will like and there will be videos people won't like. But instead of trying to please people you don't even know you can just have fun making videos. It's nice when people like the videos but you honestly don't want to make videos to please the viewers while you hate making these kind of videos.
Making YouTube videos should be fun and as long as it's fun for you then there is no real reason to stop, at least that's how I see it. The moment you lose interest in making videos then it's easy to give up, but instead of quitting you could also take a break. Maybe things will be better if you take a break from your channel. Making videos every day and not getting any views can easily leave you demoralized, but don't let it get to you! Just do what makes you happy and you should be fine, if you can get succes with that then that's just a nice bonus!
