Issues with a game since launch day
I like playing games, but no matter how much fun a game can be if it doesn't work properly or has some frustrating bugs/glitches then it's not fun to play these kind of games. Lately I've noticed how a lot of games have issues from the first day that they launched. It's as if people don't test games anymore, at least not proper. Because how else can games be released that are just not working as they should and can get you stuck because they're just broken.
Why release a game that isn't ready?
A good question, but the answer is unfortunately not that good. There isn't just one reason, there could be multiple reasons. Some developers are on a schedule, they need to release a game at a certain point and wether the game is ready or not they'll do it anyway. Others probably just want to cash in with their game as fast as they can because why wait and test a game when you can release it and see what's wrong it with it later? I'd say that's pretty lazy and stupid, but it's unclear what the true motivation is sometimes behind the release of a game that isn't ready to be released. Sometimes it's under the work in progress excuse, for example an open or closed beta and a game preview, but that doesn't make it acceptable when you're playing a game that shouldn't be released the way it is now. You can have patience, you can try to enjoy the game as much as you can but in all honesty it's not fun playing a game that has a lot of issues. I think most of us would rather wait several months longer for the release and have all the issues solved than to have early acces and get a game that has a lot of issues.
Are games not being checked anymore?
I've played in a short time several games and in the first ten or twenty minutes I already discover something that shouldn't have been in the game. Something that ruins the fun and makes it more annoying or even impossible to play the game. Episode three of Guardians of the Galaxy, I finish the first part and then I'm stuck in a white screen. I hear the music but nothing happens and the game doesn't respond to anything. Agents of Mayhem, I play a mission and enemies don't spawn or in another mission I can't acces the objective because the button to activate it doesn't respond. Then there is Fortnite that has a ton of issues, but that game is in closed beta so it is to be expected I guess. The point remains that a lot of games or dlc is being released without it being tested properly, I mean when I discover an issue that prevents me from playing the game then that is a game breaking issue. If I have to restart my game and play the same mission again because the game got stuck or something went wrong that wasn't my fault then that is unacceptable! I know that it's almost impossible to get all the bugs and glitches out but honestly problems that happen in the first ten or twenty minutes then I just get the idea that the game or dlc was never tested at all!
Take it easy and test your game/dlc?
I'm not in a hurry, I can wait for a new game or dlc a bit longer as long as it's going to be good. Getting a game or dlc with bugs and glitches in it that prevents you from playing it isn't fun at all! I don't expect every game to be perfect but honestly disovering several bugs and glitches in the first ten or twenty minutes is just ridiculous and not accepable! This makes me want to test games myself because apparently I can't trust developers with this. It's so frustrating when a game has these kind of issues because it ruins the experience for you and makes you want to quit the game and never play it again. I mean what's the point when a game doesn't work as it should? Am I supposed to restart a checkpoint several times and pray that it works this time? I actually did that with agenst of Mayhem, ok I didn't pray but I did restart the checkpoints and even restarted the mission but the exact same problem kept happening. This just proves how broken the game is and how it was never properly tested. I would rather have had Agenst of Mayhem seen released several months later without the bugs and glitches than an early release and just messed up as it is now. Honestly developers take it easy and fix your fucking games! Stop releasing games that aren't ready or haven't been tested, at least not thoroughly. It's frustrating for players to deal with this, when we buy a game we don't want this type of crap. Sometimes I think I should just rent games, because buying them is just too risky these days.
