YouTube adventures -73- People keep bothering me with spam
Do you have a YouTube channel? Do people keep bothering you with spam? If so then you probably know how annoying that can be. I guess it's the risk of having a YouTube channel, apparently it attracts people that like to bother you with spam. What's worse is that it's not something that happens once every week, in the last two weeks I've gotten twelve spam messages. That's almost one every day. Yeah, great fun...
Spam attack!
You know what's funny about the spam message? The person sending you the spam message says it's not a spam message in the spam message. Yeah that's like spamception or something like that. Another thing I noticed is how they use my online name in the message, as if it was personally typed for me. Eventhough it feels strongly like it's one in a million, especially the way it's typed. You know what's also weird? That every spam message is supposedly from a girl, at least that's who the person sending me the spam message claims to be. Now I'm not saying that it's impossible for a girl to send me a message but if every message is the same type of spam message and clearly just wants me to follow him or her on instagram or whatever social media bullshit then I can't help but get the idea that this is either a dude pretending to be a girl for some lame reason I don't even care about or some girl that is in desperate need of attention. Either way I don't care!
Do you know how I know it's spam? Because YouTube already recognizes it as spam, because every message I get is pretty much the same which comes with a request to follow someone on social media or subscribe to someones channel. The structure of these messages is so similar that I get the idea that they might be from the same person using different accounts. Which only makes me believe more that the person isn't who he or she claims to be.
The funny thing is that they say my videos are so great, honestly if you've seen my videos then that's not what you would say, and yet they never like the video. I mean if my videos are so great then why not like them? I wouldn't ask for a like but honestly if the video is so amazing then why wouldn't you like it? I like videos that I enjoy watching, so why isn't this person liking the video? Oh right they don't actually watch the video, it's just some idiot wasting my time with spam!
How do you handle spam? Oh that's pretty simple, just ignore. I'm not saying it goes away but you shouldn't let that bother you. It's just some lame douchebag who has nothing better to do with his or her life. So why be bothered by that? Of course you could block the spam and I think YouTube also helps you with that, but if something gets through then it's very easy to ignore it. If someone wants to waste his or her time with sending spam is their business, but I won't let it waste my time so I'll just ignore it.
