Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming in 2017!
This is some great news, at least for everyone that loves Red Dead Redemption or Wild West games. I really like Red Dead Redemption and I played it a lot! Both single player and multiplayer because both are a lot of fun to play. But now that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been confirmed, what can we expect from this game?
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel?
This is what most people think and to be honest it does make a lot of sense. The main character from Red Dead Redemption, John Marston, is pretty popular and after the ending in Red Dead Redemption a lot of people where a bit disappointed it ended the way it ended (no spoilers from me). So it makes sense that in Red Dead Redemption 2 you go back several years, maybe a lot of years, before whatever happened in Red Dead Redemption. This could mean you play as John Marston or maybe other members of his old gang. Perhaps you can make your own character and play as a member of that gang? Well my money is on you playing as a young(er) John Marston, because that makes the most sense to me. In the teaser picture you also see a group of men standing on a hill, it's not exactly clear who they are but it could be the gang of Dutch Van Der Linde (John's old gang) and the other members you hunted down in Red Dead Redemption. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, maybe this is just what we the fans want to see. But it sure looks interesting and there's nothing wrong with a little bit of speculation!
Is it just a single player game?
You get of course a single player story to play in but also a big online mode, a type of GTA V Online, so that could be very interesting. So when you beat single player you don't have to be worried that you're going to be bored because it seems there's still enough to do in the game. But what the online mode exactly means is not yet clear, but we'll hear about that sooner or later. Next week there will be a trailer, from what I heard, and we'll learn a bit more about the game and it might confirm some theories. The game will come out in 2017 and that's not that far from now, so I hope you haven't forgotten how to ride a horse and that you're still quick on the draw because you're going to need it in Red Dead Redemption 2!
