Overwatch Halloween event, good or bad?
It's almost Halloween so it's time for Halloween events to show up in certain games. Overwatch isn't missing this opportunity to squeeze some more money out of the players by offering some new skins, intro cutscene, victory poses and more. But is this really worth it or are we just throwing more money at Blizzard?
It's worth spending money on loot boxes?
That is the real question, because who is going to play for three weeks non stop just to earn a lot of loot boxes and hoping that the stuff they want is in one of those loot boxes? Even if you could do that there are at least two other interesting games launching during the Halloween event (Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2) so I can imagine that some people just rather want to play those games or keep playing Gears of War 4 that also launched recently. So the best choice of getting the items you want from the loot boxes without spending a lot of time on earning them is just buying them, unfortunately that costs real money and that means you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. I guess only you can answer that, because some people might say it's a waste while others say that it's worth it. Because spending three weeks on a game just trying to earn loot boxes will make you miserable, no matter how much fun the game is if you play it non stop with the only mission of getting loot boxes then it will be frustrating for you! So perhaps the best thing you can do is buy the loot boxes, but they aren't cheap and they don't guarantee anything. Once again Blizzard knows how to squeeze money out of the fans because I know that there are already a lot of people who bought at least 50 loot boxes just trying to get the skins they want.
What does the Halloween event give you?
Well at least one free loot box, big surprise mine had four grey items and one blue item and the only Halloween item was a spray, which is the only one you get for free. Then there are all the new items for the characters and Junkenstein's Revenge! What? Yes it sounds ridiculous but it's actually a fun new game mode that's only available during the event and can help you earn four new achievements or trophies. You can play this new game mode on easy, medium or hard and hard mode isn't that easy! You play as one of four characters and you're automaticly in a team with three other players. You have to play as Ana, Hanzo, McCree or Soldier 76 and there can only be one of each character. This seems simple and for the first two difficulties it's not that difficult but on hard mode you will feel the pain if you get hit by enemies and notice that the bosses are tough. But with good teamwork and communication you can get far! The objective is the protect the door of the castle against a large group of zombie robots, I didn't make that up, and some bosses that will be tougher and more deadly. The door will take damage if the zombie robots get near it and then they'll explode. It seems simple to stop them but the higher the difficulty the harder it becomes to kill them in time. The map Hollywood also got a new style for the Halloween event, it looks creepy now and I like it!
The Halloween is now live and will last till the 1st of November, so good luck and hopefully you get something good from the loot boxes!
