Youtube adventures part 25
As a youtuber you want to decide what kind of videos you make and in a way you do, but if you're one of the professional youtubers that wants to earn money with your channel then you might be influenced by others more than you think. So the question is...
Do you decide what kind of videos you make?
Of course you would say yes, because you decide what kind of videos you make. But do you know how easily you get influenced? For example if the views are very low for certain videos then I bet that this is something that you'll notice and you might change the videos or even completely stop with those videos. For example you make CoD multiplayer videos and if only a handful of people watch these videos then you really have to ask if it's a smart idea to continue with that when you're a professional youtuber. Because if you want to earn money with your videos you need a lot of people watching your videos. Which kind of gives control out of your hands.
But some people say they only make videos they like. Sure, I'm certain that they believe that too. But when they see that certain videos hardly get any views then they're going to stop with those videos, no matter how much fun it is for them to make them. Because as a professional youtuber you have to earn money with your videos and if you videos get hardly any views then you have to ask yourself if it's worth it making those videos. It seems odd but that's how it works, as a professional youtuber you are more at the mercy of your viewers than a casual youtuber that only makes videos for fun and gets no money for them.
So it's better to be a casual youtuber? Well it's nice if you can earn some money with your videos, but you have to be realistic. The chance of you having that much succes with your videos is pretty small, so starting with youtube expecting to earn a lot of money isn't very realistic. It's better to concentrate on having fun at what you do than to go for the money. Once you do have succes with your channel you can try to hold on to what you like but it's difficult if people stop watching the videos you enjoy making. Which is why I advice you to switch it up a bit, don't stick to the same stuff for too long or people get bored with it unless the videos you make are really funny to watch.
Maybe some professional youtubers have it all, they make exactly the videos they want to make and get a lot of views with those videos. That's not as common as you might think, but you're really lucky if this is how it works for you. Even if you want to please your viewers by making videos they want to see I would still advice you to hold on to the videos you like to make, ok they might not get you that many views (sometimes it will) but never forget why you started with youtube and what makes you happy. Because if it's all about views and money then you have clearly lost something good on the way. But I guess you have all kinds of youtubers out there.
