Why are so many people team killing?
This is a serious question, why are so many people team killing in games? I understand that sometimes you make mistakes but if you gun down half your team in the first five seconds of the match then you're just being an asshole. So seriously what makes people behave this way? Are they having a bad day so they decide to ruin things for everyone else as well? Maybe they're just sad sacks of shit that gain pleasure from annoying other people? Whatever the reason is, it's very annoying when someone kills you at the beginning of a round and you have to wait several minutes until you can play again,. For example in Rainbow Six Siege.
Why do developers put the option in a game to kill your own team mates?
I guess it's for realism, because hitting someone in real life with your bullets will harm them so in the game they do the same. That makes sense, but when I play a game like Halo then I'm not really looking for realism. I guess another reason for having friendly fire on is that it makes the game a bit more challenging, you can't just spam bullets and explosives everywhere because you might hit team mates and that will make things a lot harder for you and your team. If you have a friendly team they will do their best not to hit you, but in a team of douchebags there's a good chance that people will hit you and they just don't care.
What makes killing your team members so funny?
Perhaps it's some sort of stress release for some people, eventhough I'd rather play a game like Saints Row for that and just blow everything up. Other people just want to make other people mad, they want to see angry reactions and pretty much feed off the hate they get for being a team killer. These people are unbelievably sad and wasting one word on these douchebags is already too much, so if you're in a team with a team killer you can go for revenge and kill this person in the game as well or just ignore this guy and move on. It's probably best to just report this person and try your luck in another match.
Sometimes it's an accident?
This is something you should also realize, because sometimes people make mistakes. I've shot a team mate in a reflex reaction because he was sneaking up on me from behind. In games like Rainbow Six Siege you have to be quick because a second too slow and you get killed and you have to wait the rest of the round until either your team wins or the other team. It's important that you at least apologize if you make a mistake, make certain that there are no hard feelings. It's better that your team thinks you're an idiot than a team killer, because team killers will most likely get kicked from the team or shot on sight in the next round.
